Seaside Stockholm Wedding from Annevi Petersson

I’ve been dreaming of this Stockholm wedding since I first laid eyes on the beautiful images from Annevi Petersson, and I am so excited it’s finally time to share it. With elegance that will stand the test of time, and a love that is equally lovely, every image sitting in this gallery is just plain gorgeous. So trust me when I say you’ll want to spend some time with them right here.

From Annevi PeterssonCaroline and Stuart live in Melbourne, but they decided to get married in the bride’s hometown Stockholm. They rented the international styled house, Villa Soludden, situated in the Stockholm archipelago.

Villa Soludden offers hotel, restaurant, spa, private beach and a large jetty in an enclosed environment in the fashionable area Varmdo. This arrangement worked well as the groom’s family had travelled from Australia as well as many of the guests. But furthermost, Villa Soludden has stunning ocean views of the archipelago. Caroline is a graphic designer and she had done all the stationary. She likes her design to be clean and minmalistic and you could tell by the way she had styled the wedding, the clothes and stationary. The theme colours were white and peach and details like Caroline’s shoes and flowers all went in this colour.

The guests arrived at Villa Soludden and the small outdoor ceremony was held at the jetty. It was mostly Australian music playing throughout the day and Caroline’s father walked her down the aisle the song Two way street by Kimbra. Drinks were served at the large outdoor terrace after the ceremony. The sun was shining and the water was glittering and Caroline and Stuart couldn’t have picked a better day to get married. The reception was held indoors at the same estate.

Caroline said that one of the special moments of the day was her father’s speech. He mentioned Swedish princess Madeleine’s upcoming wedding, then turned and said to his daughter that the real princess is getting married today, referring to Caroline. Caroline said that the fact that he welled up and almost cried, something he never does, made it very special to her.

Sweden Wedding from Sara Norrehed Photography

If I’m being totally honest, I’d actually never heard of Gotland until now. But come to find out, it’s a total gem off the coast of Sweden (thank you Google) and the setting of this pastel stunner from Sara Norrehed. Think industrial warehouse meets beachy shores meets perfect romance with one gorgeous bride and groom stealing up the show. It breaks the wedding mold in the best of ways, and we’re loving every second in the gallery over here.

From the Bride… When I first met you I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew. Well thats Shakespeare, but he must have read my mind! And when the most beautiful person Ive ever met proposed to me on a Christmas morning I was the happiest girl in the world! I still am.

Before I met Gabriel I had never been to Gotland, which is the largest island in Sweden located off the eastern coast. He is born on the island and the first time we went there together I fell in love with this magical place. So when it was time to find the perfect spot for our wedding we knew it had to be here. We were on a last minute search for a venue and one windy day in April we found the most amazing location at an old lime-pit. The colors, the light, the nature. Everything was pure magic. Like a dream.

The surroundings and the buildings of this re-modeled, old industry called Fabriken Furillen are very bare and raw with lots of concrete and rusty metal. This turned out to be the perfect contrast to the romantic theme I had in mind for the wedding. Being a crafty, DIY person I wanted all the details to be personal and homemade. Many hours and late nights were spent on folding paper roses, turning vintage tablespoons into place cards and making burlap buntings. The result was more than I could ever have wished for! I love that every table setting was different, with old lace scarves used as table runners and thrifted candleholders my mum had collected for me since the day the wedding date was set.

The evening before the big day we had a barbeque and all our friends and family were there to mingle, wine and dine and celebrate. Such a great way to start off the weekend! On the big day the weather was luckily in our favor. The ceremony was outdoors on a small porch with the ocean next by. The dinner was delicious with locally grown produce, our friends and family made some unforgettable speeches and we all danced the entire night. I wish we could do it again! We had an amazing photographer who managed to capture all the precious moments and I love how the photos turned out, absolutely beautiful and very artistic. The entire wedding was warm, loving and fun. And the best thing about all of this? I am now married to the love of my life!

Sweden Wedding from Alicia Swedenborg

Much to my husband’s dismay, click flicks are kind of my favorite thing ever. Pretty Woman, Titanic, Dirty Dancing, you name it. They’re all total classics in my book. So when this movie-themed Sweden wedding came our way my heart did a little leap for joy. (Because when a Top Gun movie poster acts in place of a traditional table number, you know it’s going to be awesome.) Add in the gorgeous photos from Alicia Swedenborg and it’s a gallery that’s really not to be missed. Grab yourself some theater-style popcorn and peruse away right here.

From the Bride…Björn and I met at a job meeting in January 2009. He worked as a consultant on a project where I was the one who had ordered the project. From the beginning, we thus colleagues and we did not fully agree from the start. But the more we worked together, the more we both felt that there was an attraction that we could not ignore (which of course took time because we did not want to admit it to each other). In May, we started dating and we moved in together that summer – so it was that we used to say that our beginning was like a love story.

Since both Björn and I love the movie and it also felt like we had met in a movie so it was natural theme obviously love movies. That went through everything, from the style of us (Hollywood glamor) to the invitations that were designed as a movie invitation to all the music that was film music from our favorite movies. Even our seating arrangements were made for our favorite love movies and the band that played had the same name as one of our favorite characters (Dirk Diggler in the film Boogie Nights). And not to forget – we served popcorn in the church which was then used as rice outside.

We had great luck with our entire wedding weekend (guests arrived on Friday and stayed until Sunday), in that we had fantastic weather in an otherwise very rainy spring and summer. The day was fantastic – my best memory is from when my grandfather went to the Bear and thumbed him that we would be married as long as he and his grandmother (who that year had been married for 60 years).

Stockholm Engagement Session from Alicia Swedenborg

These two are soooo adorable.  And I mean adorable.  As in, they met in high school (playing soccer), had their first date at The Olive Garden (their parents drove them) and are planning a destination affair in Maine that is sure to be as sweet as they are.  And in the meantime?  Well, they traveled to Stockholm for some of the dreamiest engagement pics you’ll ever lay your eyes upon.  Join me in the gallery for every love-filled moment captured by Alicia Swedenborg.  It’s a cuteness overload.

From the Bride… David and I met 10 years ago on the soccer fields of our high school. Our first Date was to Olive Garden and our parents drove us. Somehow, we stayed in love through high school, college, and becoming working adults. Many years later we got engaged in Charleston, which was a complete surprise for me. We had decided to get married on my parent’s land in Maine, but we live in Atlanta, Georgia. Our photographer was too far to use for engagement photos, so we had decided not to take them at all. While planning a vacation in the fall before our wedding, I wanted to do travel through Scandinavia. My great grandparents were Swedish, so I wanted to go while my last name was still Ericson. Thanks to wedding blogs, I saw a photographer in Sweden that I really enjoyed, and decided we should contact her and see if she could take our engagement photos while we were there! What could seem more romantic than traveling through old cities with the love of your life? I thought the photos would not turn out well because I had no way to dry or curl my hair, we were up before the sun, and we had never met Alicia before. Luckily, they turned out great! We were thrilled with the photos and have filled up our home with these memories that she captured. What a beautiful place to make these memories.

Fifty Shades of Grey Inspiration Shoot from 2 Brides Photography

I have a confession to make.  I haven’t read “Fifty Shades of Grey.”  I know, I know… I am probably the only person on the planet that hasn’t devoured every last page of all three novels, but the minute I spotted this gorgeous photo shoot from 2 Brides Photography, I added it to my Amazon wish list instantly.  Because any book that inspires this collection of lovely (including beautiful blooms from Blombyrån Nyfiken Grön and yummy treats from Holy Sweet) is most definitely a must read.  Join me in the gallery for all of the pretty.

From 2 Brides Photography… Inspired by the mega-successful Fifty Shades Of Grey series, we teamed up with some wicked vendors here in Sweden and created a day filled with luxury, temptation, a little bit of sin and a whole lot of gorgeous details. Working with only Swedish designers, we took the inspiration one step further, and we find it lovely that Christian and Anastasia finally get married.

Swedish Wedding from Lina Arvidsson

This wedding. Oh this wedding. Let’s just say I love it. Like really love it. It’s chic yet sweet, runway meets aisle, and the result is pure perfection. It all unfolds via the lens of Lina Arvidsson leaving all of us SMPers with a feature that is just be-yond. It’s style defined with a side of serious sweetness, and really it doesn’t get better than that. See so much more of this stylish soiree right here.

From the Bride… I had the luxury of being on leave from work when Shahab had a job in the states for a couple of months. I planned most of our wedding from there. We didn’t want our wedding to turn out stiff and boring, so we decided to have a circus theme to make it more fun. I bought giant balloons, striped straws, baking cups for cupcakes, candy bags and fun accessories for the photo booth. I got help from my bridesmaid Fredrik when making place cards and all the pompoms for the decorations. It’s very easy to get carried away with all the details, so I decided to keep it on a level where I had fun doing it so it wouldn’t feel like a burden. I think that is a good tip!

Shahab and I love hamburgers, and we wanted a couple of favorites from our time spent in USA. So we decided on serving a buffet with different burgers, mac ‘n’ cheese and other simple dishes made of good quality food with a twist. We also made a specially-brewed beer for the night, and the guests really liked that personal touch. Instead of a wedding cake, we decided to serve cupcakes. We also had a photo booth with fun accessories and a candy buffet to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere that went well with our theme. To kick off the party, we hired a guy to perform a fire show, and that was really appreciated among the guests!

Our day was magical — it went too fast! It felt very nice to have all our family and friends gathered around us and seeing them having fun. It was almost surreal, and it was hard to take in all at once. We are so happy we decided to document the day with a photographer — now we can look back at our happy moments again!

Swedish 1920s Inspired Wedding by 2 Brides Photography

You’ll want to take more than a moment with this Swedish soiree by 2 Brides Photography, because there are SO many things you need to soak in. Start with the Bride and her serious style, and if you can make it past her gorgeous gown and stunning veil, then make your way down to the dashing groom – and his “I’m so in love with my Bride” smile. It’s enough to make you want to spend your day oohing and ahhing over all the lovely, and trust me, it would be worth every single minute. See it all here!

From 2 Brides PhotographyFarah and Magnus’ wedding and reception was held at the Botanical Gardens in Uppsala, Sweden, on the June 2, 2012. Inspired by the roaring ’20s, the jazz age, glamorous parties, art deco, the Charleston and The Great Gatsby, the idea was to enjoy the abundance of the era and celebrate together with friends and family and to really let loose! Quite simply, a “more is more” kind of approach but in a super cool style and great taste. They had a glamorous champagne fountain, live oyster bar, cool jazz band and a designed smoking area — can you believe it?! Even the guests were inspired by 1920s glamor and wore flapper dresses, headbands with feathers, cloche hats, fans, feather boas, long pearl necklaces and bow ties. The reception inside the old castle was lit up by a great light designer, and all the handmade details, place cards, menus, and the flowers are were soft muted pastel tones to die for! We are so fortunate that we got the opportunity to capture this lavish wedding, not just because it was super cool, but because we had the privilege of getting to know Farah and Magnus. This awesome couple who made us laugh and very much enjoy the day.

Swedish Wedding by Smallpigart Photography

This wedding. Oh my goodness, this wedding. Captured in such a stunning fashion by Smallpigart Photography, it has lifted my wedding-loving soul – and made me realize I have a strong affinity for weddings where lace and concrete dance happily together. And that dress by Ida Sjöstedt? Don’t even get me started. It’s to die. Sweet , strong, and beautiful all over – this is one gallery you just can’t miss!

From Smallpigart PhotographyLace, concrete and lots of love. A small wedding in the central of Stockholm with local venues capturing the typical Scandinavian feeling. This Stockholm wedding had me doing double takes. A simple, European wedding ceremony. The bride, timeless in her dress made by Ida Sjöstedt. After the portrait session, family and friends gathered for the ceremony and celebration at Carhälls gård, a small villa with a beautiful backyard located in the center of Stockholm.

Swedish Wedding with Rustic Charm

Personal, boisterous and rustic. Those were the three words the bride used as inspiration for her wedding, and boy did she get just that.  Add whimsical, stunning and downright charming and you don’t even need the rest of this introduction.  This Swedish Wedding brought to us by LBB member Kristy Rice at Momental Designs is just all around good. It also doesn’t hurt that the bride and groom are drop dead gorgeous. XOXO – (the other) Abby from Life in the Super Burbs

From Kristy of Momental Designs

The invitation in their eyes accomplished so much more than simply providing information.  Their invitation was to paint a picture, quite literally, of the events to come but in a whimsical and fun style to suit the couple’s magnetic personalities.  At Momental, we get to know our brides in a real way, going far beyond simple questions regarding color palette and font choice.  “How should this invitation make your guests feel?” is a more typical question heard during the Momental design process.

From the handsome Groom (we don’t get to hear from them often enough!):

We want to express to you the feeling of a late summer’s afternoon with golden sunlight trickling through the trees. Baskets of apples and pears. Relaxed smiles after happy vacations. Boisterous conversation and laughter over glasses of champagne and bottles of beer. Creamy cake with berries. Kind of a garden party/barbeque equals good wedding party! Not to forget: the two of us, of course. Have a look at the splendour of Monika’s lovely bouquet! I’m getting all carried away now, so I’d better stop.

A little from the stunning Bride:

We wanted our wedding to feel personal and reflect who we are so the invitations became very important as we wanted them to set the tone for the day to come. We chose to have our wedding in the late summer to allow the greenery to play it’s part in our outdoor ceremony and various decorations. To make a personal touch, I bought some handmade decorations on Etsy; items that can’t be found in Sweden.

My bouquet and the corsages were also important, as I am really into flowers and gardening. And since this was a Swedish-Polish-Scottish wedding we also incorporated small details from each culture. Colours became important even though we didn’t have any specific theme. The colours in Gordon’s kilt, my off white dress and the colours at the venue and in the surroundings set the theme for my accessories, our flowers, the invitations and various decorations.

Once funny memory is that our day had a clog theme! Since we had a countryside wedding I decided to wear clogs (modern high-heeled clogs but based on original 70’s models)-but it didn’t stop there. My mother held a speech about my love for clogs since I was little, and my bridesmaid’s speech also included clogs and ended with her presenting me with a custom made pair though I am happy I chose my comfy clogs to kept me dancing into the wee hours.
