[field title=”Proposal Story”]North Carolina locals Hayden and Robert embarked on a love-filled journey, culminating in a mesmerising union within the enchanting confines of La Foce in Tuscany. With a shared passion for exploration, delectable cuisine, and exquisite wines, their nuptials became an indelible chapter in their life story. Infusing a dash of whimsy through Hayden’s affiliation with the Greenbriar, their vision was to transform the innate splendour of the venue into a captivating fairytale. Collaborating with their wedding designer, they harmoniously incorporated freshly bloomed flowers that encapsulated the very essence of their special day. The result was a spellbinding stage, radiating a magical, daring, and everlasting ambience. This grand union, poised to captivate hearts far and wide, narrates a tale as old as time, speaking volumes to all who revel in the luxuries of love and the allure of timeless romance.[/field]

The bride and groom selected Guidi Lenci, a renowned and historic Florentine catering company, to create a memorable dining experience for their wedding. The menu featured authentic Tuscan flavors, including classic pici pasta with cacio e pepe sauce, topped with freshly shaved truffles. Guests were also treated to pear and pecorino ravioli, inspired by the couple’s favorite Florentine restaurant, Trattoria 4 Leoni, nestled in Piazza della Passera. For the main course, a tender beef filet paired with a rich Brunello wine reduction delighted the attendees. Hayden and Robert’s love for Tuscany was evident in their choice of wine. During a visit to the region to explore venues, they fell in love with the scenic beauty and exceptional wines of the Conte Costanti winery. It was only fitting that they selected Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino to perfectly complement their meal. The celebration continued with an incredible cocktail hour and afterparty hosted by Guidi Lenci. Guests enjoyed an open bar featuring creative drinks, including Aperol Spritz cocktails served with a dramatic touch of dry ice.

A Sophisticated Wedding to Remember at Villa Erba on Lake Como

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]A harmonious blend of gold, soft beige, crisp white, and delicate pastel tones, creating a timeless and sophisticated ambiance.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]What happens when Italian heritage meets vibrant energy? Hawa and Stefano’s wedding at Villa Erba was the perfect answer. Known for its serene elegance and timeless charm, the villa was carefully chosen not just for its logistical advantages—Stefano’s Italian roots and a guest list that was half local—but also for its striking blend of grandeur and intimacy. The couple, with their shared love for bold aesthetics and majestic architecture, fell in love with Villa Erba at first sight during their site inspection.

This wedding embodied their spirit: a harmonious mix of classic sophistication and vibrant energy. Their ceremony felt like stepping into a timeless film—the gentle lapping of the lake, the whispers of violins, and the radiant bride gliding down a pristine white aisle. As the day transitioned into night, the atmosphere transformed into something electric, with Afro-inspired rhythms and lively music filling the air. Guests celebrated a love story that felt deeply personal and unapologetically joyful.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]We had planned a family vacation to Paris to celebrate New Year’s Eve, and Stefano suggested organizing a professional photo shoot while we were there. I thought it was a lovely idea and didn’t suspect a thing.

As we stood in front of the Eiffel Tower, our daughter, Avery, held up a sign that read, “Will you marry me?” For a moment, I was completely speechless, overwhelmed by the romance of it all. Stefano got down on one knee, and I realized this was a moment I’d cherish forever. It was truly magical—I never saw it coming.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]The culinary experience at Hava and Stefano’s wedding was nothing short of extraordinary, capturing the essence of Italian gastronomy with every bite. Signature cocktails at the open bar were tailored to reflect the couple’s vibrant personalities, including an Italian Spicy Margarita—a bold blend of jalapeño tequila, Aperol, and fresh lime—and the Solelyna, a sparkling concoction of Campari, prosecco, and club soda, garnished with a slice of orange.

Guests indulged in an artisanal mozzarella bar featuring the finest Italian cheeses, paired with gnocco fritto, sun-dried tomatoes, taggiasche olives, and freshly baked focaccia and grissini. The show-stopping pizza buffet and salumi corner offered even more authentic flavors to enjoy.

The plated courses were a testament to elegance and taste, with a liquid parmesan soufflé and caramelized Martin Sec pears, a golden saffron risotto, and a tender Piedmontese scottata fillet paired with potato millefeuille and a rich red wine sauce.

To end the night on a sweet note, an Italian dessert buffet offered a variety of decadent treats, while a sumptuous midnight snack ensured guests had the energy to keep dancing under the stars.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The décor was as intentional as it was breathtaking. A white floral arch stood as the centerpiece of the ceremony, perfectly framing Lake Como’s tranquil waters. The aisle, equally striking, felt less like a walkway and more like an invitation to step into something extraordinary.

Inside Villa Erba, golden frescoes told their own story, providing a rich backdrop to the reception’s minimalist white florals and glowing candlelight. It was a balance of contrasts: classic yet modern, intimate yet grand. Small, thoughtful details brought everything together, from the soft petals on the tables to the evening’s standout feature—a curated lineup of live music that carried guests from heartfelt vows to joyous dancing.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The centerpiece of the evening was the traditional Italian wedding cake, adorned with fresh berries. Its classic simplicity and vibrant flavors perfectly mirrored the couple’s timeless style.

A Sunrise-Inspired Wedding at Villa Balbiano on Lake Como

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]purples, rich violets, coral, and lemon colors[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The love story of Ferris and Diana begins with their Syrian heritage and the friendship of their families. Inspired by their romantic tradition of watching the sunrise together in the most beautiful places in the world, and fueled by their favorite jasmine scent and the beautiful transformation of their relationship from friendship to love, the concept of the wedding “Meeting the Sunrise” was born. White jasmine, tinted in the colors of dawn, was chosen as a touching symbol of the wedding.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Diana: In line with tradition, Ferris approached the proposal with a thoughtful nod to our shared Syrian culture. It’s customary for the man, accompanied by his family, to visit the woman’s family to seek their blessing before any official engagement. True to form, Ferris and his family came to mine to ask them for my hand in marriage.
After he had the okay, we started ring shopping. Ferris wasn’t convinced by my “dream” ring, which, at the time, was an emerald-cut solitaire. He encouraged me to go ring shopping with him to make sure that was the one. To my surprise, he was right. I tried it on and didn’t like it. After that, he made me try on every cut of ring until I found the one.
After about two months, he surprised me with the ring and a proposal. The timing of his proposal was perfect, just days before their second anniversary, turned out to be enough to throw me off. He told me we were grabbing brunch and that I needed to dress up. He picked out a black off-the-shoulder Anna October dress with a drop-waist. He chose the serene garden of the Georgetown Four Seasons for his proposal, a spot just blocks away from where we had our first date. As we approached the hotel, I was admiring the garden’s greenery and saying how perfect it would be to have a wedding there. Ferris chuckled, and that’s when I realized that the greenery I was admiring was actually the proposal setup that Ferris had organized. He got down on one knee under a beautiful floral arch and asked me the four words that would change our lives forever: “Will you marry me?” Overwhelmed with joy (and laughter because he was able to truly surprise me), I said yes!
I had never been so surprised and genuinely happy; it was so freeing and something that he always makes me feel when I am with him. A few moments later, our three sisters popped out to surprise us. He knows how much they mean to me and wanted them to be there to share the moment with us.[/field]

[section title=”The Fashion”]
[field title=”Wedding Gown”]My wedding dress journey was an exhaustive odyssey that spanned continents, from bridal studios in Washington D.C. to the fashion capitals of New York and Milan. Initially, the process seemed straightforward—after trying on just two dresses, I thought, “Why do people struggle with this?” But as the number of gowns I tried on climbed well over 100, the situation spiralled. The overwhelming variety led to confusion, compounded by the pressure from the U.S. wedding dress industry’s daunting lead times. In a moment of stress, I was even persuaded by a sales associate to purchase a dress that, upon reflection, was entirely wrong for me. It was a low point, leaving me burnt out and questioning my choices, especially with the wedding less than six months away and the advised dress-buying window closing fast.
Seeking clarity, I began visiting bridal salons alone. It was in this solitude that I discovered what I truly wanted in a dress – timeless elegance and classic bridal beauty. Anne Barge’s designs resonated with me, particularly the Filmore dress—a strapless ballgown in silk white jacquard fils coupe, with a dropped waist and pleated full skirt that screamed ‘bridal’ in every fiber. Its classic silhouette and the radiant fabric made me feel unequivocally like a bride. I added some extra length to it which I thought brought just the right touch of drama, marrying tradition with my personal style.
For the reception, my wedding dress shopping experience took a delightful turn. During a trip to Milan with Ferris for venue checks and tastings, my planners scheduled an appointment at the Antonio Riva atelier for me. The atelier, quintessentially Italian in its elegance and warmth, offered a stark contrast to my earlier experiences. There, the staff understood my desire for a dress that was as unique and forward-thinking as it was flattering. The dress they presented captured everything I envisioned—fashion-forward, unique, and utterly me. Unlike the prolonged (6-8 week) alterations process back home, they promised to have the dress ready within a month, and that I could finish alternations within one day the week before the wedding.
In the end, my wedding attire embodied the duality of my personality and style. Anne Barge allowed me to embody the classic, timeless bride I’d always dreamed of being, while Antonio Riva gave me the opportunity to showcase my love for unique, statement fashion. This journey taught me the importance of following my heart in dress selection, leading me to find not just one, but two perfect dresses that reflected every facet of my bridal vision. It was a testament to the idea that sometimes, you don’t have to choose between tradition and individuality—you can beautifully have both.[/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]For my bridesmaids, Ferris and I were delighted to have our sisters by our side. In celebrating their unique personalities and styles, we chose not to limit them to a specific color scheme or dress style. Instead, we encouraged them to select outfits that reflected their individuality and the vibrancy they add to our lives.
Sally chose a stunning blue dress by Rachel Gilbert, which featured an elegant bow at the back, cascading into a long train—a detail that added a touch of drama and sophistication to her look.
Nadine opted for a captivating purple gown by Mac Duggal. This dress, beautifully crafted from luxurious tulle, showcased a sweetheart neckline, sleeveless design, and a corset bodice adorned with ruffled and tiered details, creating a silhouette that was both striking and elegant.
Sandra completed the trio with her choice of a pink gown with blue and purple hues, also from Mac Duggal—a Floral Cut Out Ruffle Tiered Gown. Her dress was a whimsical masterpiece made from floral chiffon fabric, featuring a summery cut-out bodice with covered button details and a voluminous skirt layered with airy ruffles.
Each dress brought a bright and joyful palette to the day, perfectly complementing the wedding’s aesthetic and allowing my bridesmaids to shine. Their outfits were a celebration of the color and joy they bring into our lives.[/field]

[board_carousel title=”Cocktail Hour”]

[/board_carousel]
[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]During our initial tasting, the menu selection was extensive but we chose cocktail hour foods that we believe were refreshing for a hot summer day. For dinner, we went with the quintessential Italian wedding menu, where only wine was served during dinner (no cocktails until the after party, which our guests loved!) with a three course menu that our caterer and wedding planners recommended.

The next day brunch food was a hit – there were different food stations scattered around the garden and guests loved exploring the different options while taking loads of pictures. The gelato cart was a popular photo spot.
[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Aisle – white germini herberas
Bouquet – classic white roses
Reception & brunch – colorful flowers, variety

The dinner sparkled with vibrant shades reflecting the freshness of dawn: purples, rich violets, coral, and lemon colors symbolized the joy and anticipation of a new day. The theme of the Eastern royal garden adorned the ceremony space, playing with jasmine, the symbol of the Syrian capital, Damascus, and the beautiful legend that the Creator ran out of colors for jasmine flowers, causing this nocturnal bloom to await the dawn each morning to be painted in its hues.

The dinner for 200 guests took place under the Greenhouse tent. A mix of round and long rectangular tables optimized the space, divided by the tent’s metal stands. Gray-blue tablecloths served as a celestial backdrop, highlighting the vivid shades of the rising sun. The mirrored dance floor in the color of rose gold reflected the light from the chandeliers and harmonized with the color of the chairs.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Our wedding cake embodied Italian tradition. We opted for a classic Italian wedding cake, Millefoglie, we wanted to honor the rich culinary heritage of our venue’s location. This offered our guests an authentic taste of Italy, making the experience even more memorable and special. Our guests were blown away![/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Our ceremony was a sacred exchange of vows that we wrote ourselves, promises that spoke of our past, present, and the infinite future. We both cried, including many in the crowd!
Readings – My Love by Linda Lee Elrod, read by our officiant Fabio (@comolakecelebrant)

We had a string quartet for the ceremony (quartetto_Effe). Our family walked down the aisle, first Ferris arrived by boat and was met with his mom at the top of the aisle, they entered together to the string quartet playing Blinding Lights by the Weeknd, then, my mom and Ferris’s father had an entrance to Somewhere Only we Know, then followed my two sisters, Sally and Sandra, with Ferris’s sister, Nadine, interlocking arms to Crazy in Love, and lastly, my father and I walked in to Can’t Help But Falling in Love. Then Diana and Ferris Kiss and exit to Viva La Vida. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]An unexpectedly humorous moment occurred as I was making my grand entrance from the villa to the aisle. Adorned in a beautiful gown with a stunning 12-foot (3-meter) long veil trailing behind me, I encountered a small hiccup. As I stepped outside the villa, my veil decided it had other plans and got caught in the doorway about 12 feet into my walk. All our guests were facing my father and I at this point and clapping. The sudden halt puzzled my father, who was by my side, unaware of the cause. He barely turned to me, still facing forward and said, “we’re stopping, are we supposed to stop?” I found myself caught between laughter and the inability to move, struggling to explain the situation to him. I told him, “I’m stuck.” We stood there, momentarily paused in our own little bubble, until someone finally noticed and came to our rescue. Though the guests were oblivious to this hiccup, it became a beautiful moment shared just between my father and me, filled with laughter and a touch of pre-ceremony excitement.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Another memorable moment came unexpectedly and beautifully in the midst of our ceremony. As the officiant shared heartfelt words, while Ferris and I were holding hands in front of him, a moment of spontaneous joy unfolded before us. A large ferry boat, bustling with tourists, glided by on the water directly in front of Villa Balbiano. To our surprise and delight, everyone aboard began cheering for us. It was a serendipitous interruption, one that reminded us of the beauty of unplanned moments. This sweet, unforeseen cheer from strangers not only added to the magic of our day but also underscored the idea that some of the most beautiful moments in life are those that simply happen, beyond the realm of meticulous planning.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Another unforgettable experience was our post-ceremony escape on a classic Lake Como Riva boat. The boat, painted in a glamorous Tiffany blue, was the epitome of elegance and offered us a much-needed respite from the whirlwind of wedding activities. In the chaos leading up to the wedding, Ferris and I hadn’t had the chance to truly take in the beauty of Lake Como. As the boat glided over the water, the driver took us on a leisurely tour around the lake, allowing us to soak in the breath-taking views. Surrounded by the stunning scenery, Ferris and I could finally pause and revel in the moment, celebrating our union in the privacy and serenity of Lake Como’s enchanting waters. It was a deeply personal and joyful experience, allowing us to momentarily step away from the celebrations and simply enjoy being newlyweds in one of the most beautiful places on earth.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]On our wedding day, amidst a whirlwind of emotions, my groom bestowed upon me an unforgettable surprise: a heartfelt rendition of Nat King Cole’s ‘When I Fall In Love.’ Despite the constraints of time, which afforded no opportunity for rehearsal, he courageously sang acapella. While the key may have faltered slightly, the depth of his love resonated through each note, enveloping the room in emotion. As tears welled in our eyes, I found myself rushing into his arms, overwhelmed by an immense wave of love and gratitude, cherishing this beautiful moment forever.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The bride and groom had always been captivated by the enchanting beauty and the warmth of Italy during their past visits. They dreamt of a wedding that would weave together a whimsical, soft, and romantic ambiance, while also creating an intimate atmosphere where they and their loved ones could immerse themselves in the magic of Italy. The key element was choosing a charming Italian villa nestled in the hills of Positano. There were breathtaking views and lush gardens that provided the perfect backdrop for their love story.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]We hosted our welcome dinner at La Tagliata in Positano. We chose to serve classic mom-and-pop Italian dishes that were all prepared with locally grown produce. Guests were welcomed with glasses of sparkling prosecco, accompanied by delightful appetizers. What followed was a symphony of courses that was never ending. The vegetables, fresh from La Tagliata’s garden, were paired with homemade pastas and meats. The wine and limoncello flowed freely and were both crafted in house. On our wedding day, we continued the celebration with a full open bar. We offered a four-course meal that was a true indulgence. We began with sweet melon draped in Parma ham and tender buffalo cherry mozzarella. The first course was a creamy lemon fettuccini, delicately crowned with toasted pistachios. Then came the second course, a tender filet mignon, perfectly seared and bathed in a rich mushroom and green pepper Aglianico sauce. And finally, dessert was a sweet serenade of wedding cake and an assortment of delicate Italian cookies.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]We’ve always been enchanted by lush floral designs, so we filled every corner of our venue with beautiful blooms. We wanted our reception to feel like a dreamy garden where flowers floated gently above us, creating an atmosphere of romance and magic for the evening. Our floral arrangements were created using large English roses, Delphiniums, white Rununculus, and Italian Ruscus greenery.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We loved our four-tier wedding cake! Inside was a rich red velvet, while the outside was adorned with a delicate Chantilly layer of icing.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Choosing the officiant for our wedding felt like the most natural decision. My husband and I wanted someone at the altar who could bring us a sense of peace amidst all the emotions of the day. We asked our best friend, who had been by our side for over a decade, to officiate. He guided us through the wedding ceremony with such warmth, elegance, and heartfelt humor. We could not have asked for a more perfect voice to lead our ceremony.

We discovered the incredible professional wedding singer, Louis Vlahakis, who truly set the perfect tone for our special day. He played a stunning rendition of “Until I Found You” for the processional, got everyone moving with “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” for the recessional, and made our first dance enchanting with “Heaven.” When he surprised us with “Take Me Home, Country Roads” at the reception, it turned into a heartfelt sing-along that made the day even more unforgettable.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]To honor the bride’s Vietnamese background, they embraced her traditions by hosting a beautiful tea ceremony during the wedding week. The venue was adorned in rich red and gold which are the traditional colors of a tea ceremony. The bride, groom, and entire wedding party were elegantly dressed in stunning silk Áo dài. The ceremony was deeply heartfelt, far surpassing everyone’s expectations in its meaning and grace—a memory that will be cherished forever.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Our wedding brought together family members from all over the United States, as well as Europe and Africa, creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was a truly special moment for us, as it was the first time everyone was together in one place and likely the only time it will ever happen.
[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Traveling the world has been a special part of our journey together, and we wanted to share that joy with the people we love most. We invited friends and family, including those who had never ventured outside the U.S., to be part of this memorable experience. To show our deep appreciation for their effort and support, we hosted a post-wedding sailing trip along the breathtaking Amalfi Coast and Capri. It was a day filled with beauty and happiness, creating cherished memories for everyone.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]

Green and turquoise have always been two of my favorite colors, so when it came to curating a palette for our day, I knew I didn’t want to overshadow Positano’s gorgeous turquoise sea or the colorful houses and buildings that line the city. We opted for a classic palette of green and white with some touches of gold. A favorite addition was our dinner napkins that Alessandra helped us pick with a gorgeous pattern and a pop of blue.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]As for the rest of the decor, we wanted to play off of our palette and choose decor that was classic, elegant, and whimsical. We opted for white flowers with greenery, a special bouquet of purple flowers to honor my mom’s favorite color, classic white chairs and linens, gold and silver chandeliers and fairy lights.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Adam proposed in October 2019 after over 4 years of dating. He decided to propose in Disneyland, a special place to us as a couple since we officially started dating after reconnecting on a trip with our families there in July of 2015. Disneyland was also a special place to my family and me as it was one of my mom’s all-time favorite places and we would go every year as a family before she passed away in February of 2010. Adam planned the most special proposal in front of the Wishing Well, one of the last places I have pictures with my mom during a trip to Disneyland for my 16th birthday, a few months before she passed. He wanted to make sure she was there to celebrate our proposal, and he also surprised me with members of my family that I didn’t know would be there to witness our proposal. It was so special and just like Adam to go above and beyond to honor my mom’s memory in such an intentional way, and ensure that she was there with us and very much a part of a pivotal moment in our lives. A Bridgerton-Inspired Elegant Wedding at Villa Sola Cabiati on Lake Como

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We selected a palette of French blue, soft pink, and elegant gold for our colors.

[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]We chose to celebrate our wedding in the enchanting Lake Como, Italy—the most romantic destination in the world. As high school sweethearts with over 16 years together, we wanted our wedding to be one for the history books. For our special day, we selected the timeless elegance of Villa Sola Cabiati, paired with the grandeur of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo for our welcome party. Our vision was to create a wedding reminiscent of a royal Bridgerton affair—romantic, joyful, and filled with charm.
[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]My husband designed an art exhibit inspired by Yayoi Kusama’s infinity mirror room, transforming it into a stunning installation adorned with mason jars. [field title=”Food & Drink”]For our welcome party, we hosted it in the beautiful gardens of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, which also catered the delicious food. Guests enjoyed a delightful spread featuring a variety of pizzas, cheese bites, octopus salad, pesto pasta, seared tuna in lemongrass sauce, and chicken filets cooked over an open flame by a skilled chef. A bar served an array of cocktails and mocktails, with a special emphasis on the classic Italian Aperol Spritz.

SunLake Catering provided the exquisite menu for our wedding. For the starter, we had perfectly seared scallops paired with creamy buffalo mozzarella, fresh confit tomatoes, and a roasted aubergine and basil cream. The first course featured homemade tagliolini—fresh egg pasta tossed with butter and sage, served over a rich Parmigiano Reggiano cream with summer truffle. The second course offered a choice of sea bass cooked in Prosecco with aromatic Mediterranean herbs and mixed baby vegetables on creamed potatoes, or a beef fillet accompanied by a luxurious milk and truffle cream, duck foie gras mousse, and thyme-infused potatoes. To top it all off, our dessert spread included an assortment of classic Italian sweets and a delightful gelato cart.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]For the welcome party, the décor struck a perfect balance between classic elegance and playful charm, featuring a vibrant palette of white, orange, and green. Our goal was to create a chic yet lively atmosphere that captured the essence of quintessential Italian flair. We showcased large white roses against a lush green backdrop, enhanced by the brightness of lemons and pops of orange in both the drinks and straws.

For the wedding, the décor was elevated and lavish, yet fresh. Lush pink florals, accented with hints of yellow, beautifully complemented the table settings and the bridesmaids’ pastel blue dresses. Golden accents added a touch of elegance, seamlessly tying in with the antique-classic charm of the venue.
[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We had a 3-tier cake, with flavors of chantilly cream with strawberries and pistachio cream. It had decorations of fresh flowers.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Marco, a charismatic Italian with a rich accent, officiated our ceremony against the breathtaking backdrop of the lake. We included a poignant reading of “Blessing for a Marriage” by James Dillet Freeman, which set a heartfelt tone for the occasion. As we exchanged our vows, we joyfully declared our “I dos” in Italian, adding a touch of romance and authenticity to the moment.
I made my entrance to Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” elegantly performed by Italy string quartet, creating a magical atmosphere. For our first dance, we shared a tender moment to Calum Scott’s “You Are the Reason,” enveloped in the love and warmth of our gathered friends and family.[/field]

A Mesmerizing Wedding Weekend at Villa Balbiano on Lake Como

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]ivory, metallic, green[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Immersing ourselves in the love story of Alina and Pavel, we discovered that their future family has a guardian guiding them, and it is a wild cat. Alina’s favorite animal is the panther, while Pavel is a Leo by zodiac. The symbol of the trendy lounge bar in Toronto where the couple met is a leopard, which the couple learned about with pleasant surprise during the concept presentation.

Wild cats, known for living in prides, create a close-knit family unit led by a dominant leader. Since Alina decided to take her husband’s surname after their marriage, the wedding was beautifully named “The Levin’s Pride”.

In developing the designs and sketches for the project, we harnessed the limitless possibilities of AI. Our goal was to create entirely new visuals that seamlessly blend Africa with Italy, the tropics with European architecture, and the past with the future.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]One year before their wedding, the groom planned an unforgettable surprise during their trip to Lake Como. After a scenic boat ride, they arrived at the enchanting Villa La Casinella. Awaiting Alina in the villa’s gardens was a breathtaking scene: a romantic dinner table nestled within a heart crafted from vibrant red roses. [section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]As dusk settled over the garden, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. Guests mingled, drawn to the open bar that promised an array of signature cocktails inspired by classic Italian recipes.

The Levin’s Pride was the first cocktail to catch their attention—a refreshing mix of prosecco, peach schnapps, and cranberry juice. Guests savored the fruity notes, laughter bubbling up as they clinked glasses.

Next, the Safari Spritz emerged, its vibrant combination of Aperol, prosecco, soda, and orange brightening the evening. The drink’s effervescence mirrored the cheerful chatter surrounding the bar.

Not to be outdone, the Lion’s Roar, a bold blend of Campari, prosecco, soda, and orange, made its entrance. Its striking color and robust flavor captivated adventurous spirits.

The Panther’s Kiss followed—a sweet, fruity cocktail featuring raspberry liqueur, peach schnapps, and champagne. It was a favorite among those with a penchant for dessert-like drinks.

For the more daring guests, Jungle Fever offered a tropical escape with tequila, lime juice, and a medley of fruit juices. Each sip brought a taste of adventure, sparking conversations about travel and exploration.

Meanwhile, the culinary show unfolded nearby. Chefs skillfully prepared Italian cheeses and salami, while tempura finger foods sizzled enticingly. The aroma of fresh pasta and truffles wafted through the air, drawing everyone closer to the action.

As the evening progressed, a four-course dinner featuring traditional Italian dishes awaited. Each course was a celebration of flavors, from rich antipasti to hand-crafted pasta, followed by delicious pizza and expertly grilled meats.

With a backdrop of laughter, good food, and delightful cocktails, the night blossomed into a memorable celebration, a true feast for the senses.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The ceremony decor took an innovative approach, blending the inspiration of the tropical rainforest with high fashion, all enhanced by the capabilities of artificial intelligence. We drew from the new art movements of the METAMODERN era, particularly the conceptual OXYMORON, which employs contradictions to create a striking stylistic effect.

The essence of our decor concept for the dining area was a synthesis of wild natural beauty and the structured elegance of modern design. We envisioned a future where the chaotic beauty of nature coexists with the organized sophistication of minimalism. Chromed accents and clean lines provide a striking contrast to vibrant greenery and delicate florals, resulting in a captivating harmony.

Imagine futuristic lighting casting dynamic shadows that mimic the dappled sunlight found in the jungle. Our design incorporates a combination of watercolor illustrations and AI-generated patterns, alongside handcrafted elements and cutting-edge printing techniques. The custom monogram reflects the refined style of Hermes, adding an elegant touch.

Guests will be treated to thoughtful gifts, including custom beach bags, handmade silk scarves, and a selection of Italian delicacies: Cinzano, Amaretti cookies, and olive oil, making the experience truly memorable.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The decor of the 4 Levels All Milk White Cake was truly stunning. Created by the talented Parisian pastry chef from Made in Cake, this cake featured a rich cream custard layered with fresh berries. Its design was inspired by the delicate beauty of wildflowers, which brought a light and airy feel to the event. To enhance the overall aesthetic, the cake was displayed on a table with a sleek, futuristic design, creating a perfect harmony between nature and modern elegance.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The ceremony took place with the accompaniment of a white piano. A lyrical tenor performed “OH, MY LOVE” from the movie Ghost as the bride walked down the aisle.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Our team designed custom costumes for the dancers to welcome guests and perform during dinner, drawing inspiration from the spirit of wild animals and the “Sci-Fi” artistic genre. As guests arrived at Villa Balbiano, they were greeted by professional dancers in these unique outfits. In the evening, the event transformed into a vibrant jungle scene with futuristic costumes and vocal techniques, all enhanced by a captivating display of live primal fire. When Alina and Pavel approached the cake, a magical backdrop came to life behind them—pyrotechnic cascades flowed from above, resembling waterfalls deep in the jungle. The contrast between delicate floral motifs and striking pyrotechnics created a mesmerizing effect, symbolizing the harmony of beauty and dynamism found in nature’s most exquisite landscapes.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The unconventional seating plan became a true entertainment for guests during the aperitif. To find their seat, a guest would ring a bell, state their name, and receive a glass of prosecco along with an elegant card featuring their name and table number.

[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The welcome dinner at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo was a vibrant ode to life, presenting a fresh interpretation of the Dolce Vita concept. The celebration combined the rich, warm hues of the Italian sun with the refreshing blue tones of Lake Como.

For the pre-wedding dinner, we created a unique seating arrangement featuring mini liqueurs. Each guest was selected and gifted a unique liqueur—Limoncello, Gin, Amaretto, Amaro, Rum, Brandy, Campari, Tequila, and others—totaling 52 different types of miniature bottles.

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed a variety of culinary shows: woks, pizza, barbecue, flambé shrimp, tempura, and a mozzarella bar. Guests were also treated to an open designer cocktail bar featuring personalized drinks all evening long.

The vibrant moments of this day were captured by two talented photographers—Alex Gaidashev and Inna Nova.[/field]

An Intimate 25-Person Wedding at Villa Montanare in Cortona, Tuscany

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Natalie and Chris’s wedding was an intimate 25 people. The design, although kept simple, had certain elements that gave hints of luxury and opulence. Contrasted against the rustic style of villa montanare in Cortona Italy, Natalie came out in the most fabulous Jaton Couture dress with a lace choker detail that seemed to come straight out of NYC fashion week! This really set the tone as to how far our imaginations wanted to go. It was a perfect atmosphere where guests could be comfortable in the relaxed upscale tuscan vibe, but equally not out of place if dressed to the nines! Natalie and Chris emphasized luxury style in a tuscan laid back way. [/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]We met five years ago and instantly became best friends! Realizing that we had the same interests and loves for the smaller things in life, we decided to search each others souls deeper until it led us here.

An Earthy Palette and Understated Elegance at Antica Fattoria Di Paterno

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”][/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]

The wedding planner who also created the design plan of the day, Martina de Robertis shares: “When Andrea and Matthew contacted me and told me what their wedding idea was, I was thrilled! Their Italian origins brought them back here, among the hills of Tuscany. We immediately found ourselves in tune, mine is a simple and refined style with an important attention to even the smallest details. I firmly believe this can make a difference! We studied the environment and the spouses and also a style for them that could speak of them but also of the beautiful Tuscany, taking up the colors and tones and re-proposing them for the floral arrangements, the tablecloths, the stationery, therefore the pinks and browns that characterize Tuscan villas with “cotto”, but also the green of the olive trees and pastel colors. To give an extra touch of romance we added candelabras with tall stems. Everything was in harmony. And then, the moment that no one expected: a fireworks display began from the hill which moved everyone, friends and family and officially kicked off the party!”

Colors of the Day Andrea and Matthew’s wedding at Antica Fattoria di Paterno was a visual feast, perfectly capturing the essence of Tuscany’s timeless beauty. The venue, with its classic medieval Tuscan architecture, provided a stunning backdrop for the day’s events. The warm, earthy tones of the ancient stone buildings combined with the lush, vibrant greenery that Tuscany is renowned for created an idyllic setting for the couple’s special day. The color palette of the wedding was carefully curated to enhance and complement the natural beauty of the venue. The bride’s bouquet was a sophisticated arrangement of pristine white roses, symbolizing purity and elegance. The simplicity and perfection of the white roses made a striking statement, adding a touch of classic elegance to the overall aesthetic. The bridesmaids carried bouquets that introduced a pop of color, featuring the same elegant white roses accented with vibrant orange details. This addition brought a cheerful and lively element to the floral arrangements, reflecting the joy and celebration of the day. The table setups were a testament to the beauty of minimalism. Each table was thoughtfully arranged to highlight the natural beauty of the venue without overwhelming it. Elegant yet understated, the table decor featured simple arrangements that allowed the stunning surroundings to take center stage. Soft white linens, delicate glassware, and a few carefully placed floral accents created a refined and sophisticated look. The choice to embrace minimalism in the table setups was a nod to the philosophy that when you have such a breathtaking backdrop as Tuscany, less is more. The muted color palette and simple decor allowed the natural beauty of the venue and the surrounding landscape to shine, creating an atmosphere of effortless elegance. What we love about Tuscany is the perfect combination of its rich, earthy color palette and the understated elegance that comes from embracing simplicity. The wedding of Andrea and Matthew beautifully captured this balance, creating a day that was both visually stunning and deeply meaningful. The colors of the day, from the warm tones of the venue to the fresh greenery and elegant floral arrangements, all came together to create an unforgettable celebration of love and beauty.

[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Our beautiful bride, Andrea, shares the story:

‘Our proposal was the perfect beginning to our fairytale wedding. On a perfect summers day in Montepulciano, Tuscany, we started our day the best way we know how – with a cornetto and cappuccino. After walking through the town, we climbed our way up to a perfect little garden by the side of the castle and, under the beautiful grapevines and warm Tuscan Sun, Matt proposed by describing all the beautiful details of our love and all that we hope for together in the future. By pure chance, a small band came and played classical music next to where we sat embracing one another and it was the most perfect moment. ‘[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Andrea and Matthew’s wedding in Tuscany was a celebration of love, heritage, and exquisite cuisine. The couple and their guests were treated to a delightful array of traditional Italian dishes that highlighted the rich culinary heritage of the region. From fresh pasta made with local ingredients to succulent meats and perfectly roasted vegetables, every dish was a testament to the flavors of Tuscany.

The meal began with an assortment of antipasti, featuring bruschetta with ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and a selection of cured meats. The first course included handmade ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach, topped with a sage butter sauce. The main course showcased a tender Florentine steak, grilled to perfection and served with a side of roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables.

No Italian meal is complete without a selection of fine wines, and this wedding was no exception. Guests enjoyed a variety of local wines, including Chianti, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, and Brunello di Montalcino. Each sip complemented the meal perfectly, adding to the overall experience of dining in one of the world’s most renowned wine regions.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral design and decor for Andrea and Matthew’s wedding was nothing short of breathtaking, thanks to the incredible work between Luca Cozza Floral Design and the amazing planner Martina De Robertis (The Marthy’s Vintage Garden). Embracing the classic and elegant palette of crisp white roses, the floral arrangements added a timeless touch to the celebration. These pristine blooms were beautifully complemented by the lush greenery that Tuscany is so famous for, creating a harmonious blend that mirrored the natural beauty of the surroundings.

The ceremony space was adorned with delicate white rose arrangements, creating a serene and romantic atmosphere as the couple exchanged their vows. The reception tables were equally stunning, featuring roses interspersed with verdant foliage, creating an elegant and cohesive look. The combination of white and green not only highlighted the sophistication of the event but also paid homage to the natural splendor of Tuscany.

The decor extended beyond the floral arrangements, with thoughtful touches that enhanced the overall ambiance. Soft candlelight flickered on the tables, adding a warm glow to the evening, while elegant linens and tableware completed the sophisticated setting. Every detail was carefully considered to create an unforgettable experience for Andrea, Matthew, and their guests.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake was a true masterpiece, reflecting the elegance and grandeur of the day. Crafted by an exceptionally talented artist and florist, the cake was a stunning four-tier creation, adorned with white roses and touches of greenery that tied in perfectly with the overall floral theme. Each tier was meticulously decorated, showcasing the artistry and attention to detail that went into its creation.

Before the cake cutting, guests were treated to an entertaining display of singing and dancing, which added a joyful and festive atmosphere to the celebration. However, the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the spectacular five-minute firework display that followed. As the night sky lit up with dazzling colors, it provided a magical backdrop for the couple’s first moments as husband and wife.

The combination of the beautifully decorated cake, the lively entertainment, and the awe-inspiring fireworks made for an unforgettable conclusion to a perfect wedding day. Andrea and Matthew’s wedding in Tuscany was truly a celebration of love, family, and timeless elegance.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Our beautiful bride, Andrea, shares the story:

‘We chose a violin to create a beautiful, romantic ambiance for our guests and for our ceremony entrance. Andrea walked down the aisle with her mum and dad arm in arm to All of Me – John Legend. Our DJ from DJ Zano set the party scene and we all danced well into the next morning .'[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Our beautiful bride, Andrea, shares the story:

‘Our favorite detail of the day was surprise fireworks. We didn’t tell anyone – not even our families! It was such a beautiful moment of celebration for all things that were that night – our friends, our families, being together and a true ode to our love which is so luminous and magical.'[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]From my very personal perspective, I loved a lot of different details from the day.
Beginning the day, I really loved the venue of the reception, Antica Fattoria di Paterno.
A medieval venue which brings all the classical yet fancy Tuscany vibes into the main act!
The combination of the old venue combined with amazing florals artwork by our amazing floral designer, made the wedding ceremony and reception really stand out![/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]As a photographer, I always admired all the details around the getting ready shots. This is the exact reason I always paid so much attention to my flatlays. I never wanted to create a flatlay that I may have seen before on Pinterest or in any other social. I always was into flatlaying every detail in a way that it will make this precious detail of the couple stand out even more.
My favourite fashion detail of the day though were Andrea’s amazing heels choice by the fashion forward brand THE ATTICO. It’s really amazing how these shoes are so classy and chic yet they also have this amazing geometry detail on the heel side that made my fashion perspective do the happy hippo dance. Amazing detail![/field]

They dined on beef tartare, asparagus risotto, filet mignon and mashed potatoes. Dessert was an Italian Mille-Feuille cake topped with cream and fresh berries.

[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals were fashioned in an organic way to complement the setting of each area that was used for the wedding celebration. For the ceremony lush colorful blooms provided a meadow for the wedding party’s entrance which also wrapped around the platform where they exchanged vows. From the castle ruins guests were transported to Villa Sant’Anna for cocktails on the lawn and dinner in the greenhouse. A floral arch next to the outdoor bar provided the backdrop for the die cut calligraphed butterfly escort cards. Yellow and white striped patio umbrellas and floral tablecloths continued the color story.

As the sun set over the hills of the Val d’Orcia Valley, guests entered the greenhouse for dinner through a lavish floral arch.

For the dinner, long tables were set with feminine layers on top of floral tablecloths. Fresh arrangements were placed along the tables and shades of pastel taper candles were tucked in between them. Pink stemware added whimsy to the place settings while
table numbers were placed in fresh pears and lemons.

Calligraphed and scrolled place cards were affixed to the bottom of the dinner menus.
Along the back side of the greenhouse, a dramatic velvet peach colored drape served as the backdrop for the band and dancing.

Climbing lush floral enhanced the 2-sided bar, lounge and dance spaces. Greenery adorned the three massive iron candelabras hung above. [/field]

Summer Wedding Filled With Tradition at Their Family Villa in Castel Rigone, Italy

[section title=”The Planning”]
[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The colors were whites and greens.[/field]
[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Kyle and Carley’s wedding was held in Castel Rigone, a small medieval village in Umbria, Italy. The couple envisioned a summer wedding filled with Italian wedding traditions, and they certainly created a magnificent event for their family and friends who flew in from the US to share in the celebration.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]As from Kyle’s point of view: I knew exactly where I wanted to propose to Carley. We had spent countless hours walking our chocolate lab around the waterfront of East Boston talking about anything from Carley’s baking to the proper way to load the dishwasher while taking in the views of the city. I threw her off by telling her we were doing a ‘birthday dinner’ followed by meeting some friends for a drink at a bar around the corner – she had no clue I was going to propose and I actually had to remind her that I needed an answer. Following the proposal, both sets of parents were waiting at our condo with champagne and to wish us congratulations. We rounded out the weekend with a ‘birthday party’ at a local rooftop bar, another surprise for her with it being our engagement party.
Carley: I swear I cried happy tears for three days straight. He asked me in the perfect spot by the ocean on a walk we’ve done a million times with our dog. Then the continued surprise of a weekend long celebration with our closest family and friends made me feel so loved and supported. [/field]

We visited a boutique wedding dress shop in Haverhill and worked closely with the designer Hector who quickly helped me find my dream dress. I had each mom (mine and MIL) and bridesmaid pick out a dress that they could see me in. The dress I chose was the very first one I tried on. I immediately gasped and was overwhelmed with emotion. I knew in my gut right away that it was my wedding dress. Simple, classic, elegant, and a little sexy all at the same time. I never once doubted my decision and felt so beautiful and comfortable on my wedding day. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The festivities kicked off with a traditional 2 1/2 hour Italian meal at a beautiful villa in the Umbrian countryside for the rehearsal dinner.

After the wedding ceremony, the couple made their way to the Main Square, where they were warmly welcomed by their guests. The doors of the Palace were opened for an aperitif in the inner courtyard, where guests enjoyed customary Italian delicacies and lounge areas created with large round velvet sofas and forest green poufs. The guests also tossed a coin into the ancient well to express their well wishes for the new couple.

Italian delicacies were served for the wedding reception dinner, including fresh handmade pastas with local sauces and a Chianina tagliata cooked in plain view over the coals, paired with local wine.[/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The entrance of the Church was adorned with a majestic arch of greenery and fresh flowers, while the inside was decorated with white carpet and more florals extending to the flower adorned altar.

Dinner was served in the backyard garden, which had an “old Italy” allure, with tables adorned with green Toile de Jouy print tablecloths and floral arrangements. The bride and groom’s sweetheart table was a focal point, with a cascading arrangement of beautiful flowers and multiple single roses. Guest tables filled the garden, meandering around the pool.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Carley, a talented pastry chef, assembled the wedding cake with Kyle, a traditional mille-feuille of Chantilly cream, strawberries, and chocolate chips.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The bride and her father arrived at the church, in a stunning vintage red Spider convertible, making a grand entrance after the bridal party procession.

After the couple made their grand entrance on the back of the vintage red Spider convertible into the main square, they were led by their bridal party into the inner courtyard for their first dance. The couple celebrated with family and friends dancing to the live band in the courtyard and enjoying the love and excitement with everyone. Guests were entertained by the couple during the cooking show, and everyone enjoyed this special moment. Carley and Kyle’s wedding was elegant, timeless and an event that their guests will always remember. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The wedding preparations took place in the family’s medieval palace, which was beautifully renovated by Italian architects. The religious ceremony was held at the Sanctuary of Mary Most Holy of Miracles, a building that was erected in 1494 on the site where “multa ac diversa et stupenda signa et miracula” which from Latin translated into Italian means “many different and stupendous manifestations and miracles” occurred.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Italy has a special place in both of our hearts together and separately. To get married there was an absolute dream, and to host it at our families property was even more special than anything we could have imagined. A lot of our guests traveled out of the country for the first time to attend our wedding which was so special to share our mutual love of travel with family and friends. We wanted to lean in and celebrate the Italian culture and traditions as much as possible through our ceremony, meals, and decor. We couldn’t have done it without our amazing vendors! [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The couple extended their time in Italy after the wedding to continue celebrating with close friends in Positano before heading to the island of Ischia, just off the coast of Napoli.[/field]
