The Dreamiest Beach Wedding With Dinner on the Ocean Pier!

Imagine the softest, prettiest, most ethereal beach celebration of your wildest dreams and that, my friends, is this wedding. Set in Montego Bay, Jamaica, it begins with a ceremony on the island’s white sand beaches followed by dinner on a breathtaking ocean pier. Of course, behind every amazing wedding are amazing vendors and Meggie Francisco Events + Tracy Enoch Photography are two of the pros who made it happen. Follow your tropical wanderlust with even more this way in the gallery.

From Tracy EnochMary and Mike exchanged vows on the white sand beaches of Montego Bay, Jamaica surrounded by an intimate gathering of their close family and friends. Using a soft pastel color palette, Meggie Francisco of Meggie Francisco Events succeeded in designing a warm and minimalistic event that emphasized the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Using locally foraged foliage to compliment the soft white and pink tulips that were shipped in from the states, Leslie Dupre worked her magic and created stunning floral elements used for the wedding day. Mary and Mike began their wedding day celebration on the beach exchanging rings and vows, and ended the evening with an intimate dinner under the stars and dancing at one of the Hyatt Ziva Jamaica resort clubs.

Proteas + Peonies Make an Unexpectedly Perfect Mix

The hair! The dress! The BOUQUET! All I can say about this wedding in Puerto Rico is yes, yes, yes! STEM Events outdid themselves with an unexpectedly amazing pairing of the Bride’s favorite flowers, peonies and proteas, which pop against her delicate, lace gown. See more of this amazing fête by the beach in the Vault.

From STEM EventsSometimes you don’t need to spend a lot on decor. A great dress, a historic hotel by the beach, and the perfect bouquet with close friends and families by your side can be extremely glamorous!

When I met Nancy a few months before her wedding at the Condado Vanderbilt Hotel, she mentioned to me that she wanted a big bouquet, and when I asked her what type of flowers she wanted, she told me this: “I love proteas and peonies!” I immediately wondered how I was going to make these two work together. The result was a bouquet unbelievable beautiful, very organic, and dramatic. I had a box full of proteas of different sizes, and I chose the biggest one. When Nanvy held her bouquet for her first time, she did it so gracefully (it was a very heavy bouquet)! The contrast of her delicate figure and beautiful dress against the bouquet with such dramatic mix of flowers made her looked like a professional model. She was the perfect bride.

Beach Wedding Perfection in Punta Cana

This Punta Cana celebration has all the makings of beach wedding perfection: the private, white sandy shores of Huracan Cafe; a windswept, flowing gown by Truvelle; tropical, DIY floral crowns; and a glowing bride with romantic (waterproof!) makeup by Christine Cho Beauty. Best of all, Joee Wong Photography and Elle & Be Films captured the whole thing. Get ready to pack your bags, because this gorgeous destination wedding will have you booking a flight to the Dominican Republic.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/139399636 600 338]

From the Bride… Tom and I met back in university at a Christian conference and were re-introduced to each other by his sister, Candice, and my good friend, Reggie, 10 years later. He lived in Little Rock, Arkansas, and I was in Toronto, Ontario, so we added each other on Facebook and began to get to know each other. It took four months of Facebook Messenger and texting on the phone before we went on our first official date over the Christmas holidays in 2013. His ability to do muscle-ups on gymnastics rings at the rock climbing facility we went to for one of our dates totally won me over! We became official in the new year and began our journey being in a long distance relationship. We made it a promise to make plans to see each every two to three months, so then began our adventures: surfing in Costa Rica, driving along the West Coast and taking hikes under the giant Redwood trees, experiencing my first real southern barbecue in Memphis, and leaving our mark outside Elvis’ home. It soon became evident we wanted to go on many adventures together for the rest of our lives.

Tom proposed to me the following year on Christmas Day, and the first challenge we faced was where to have the wedding. Having witnessed many local weddings being a wedding planner myself, I didn’t want to have a conventional wedding in a banquet hall, so we decided to look into more fun destinations and ended up choosing Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I came across Mayte and Natalia’s work through a local photographer and knew I could trust them fully with bringing my vision to life. I chose the venue because of the planners, and boy did they deliver. Floating floral arrangements over our tables, lace and pearl accents on dinner napkins, chandeliers and beautifully decorated statement doors… The list goes on. Every single detail was on point, and we were beyond impressed with how they transformed the restaurant and beach into the most beautiful venue any bride could ever imagine. We didn’t have to deal with other hotel guests standing around peeping in on our wedding ceremony and reception. It felt so intimate (even with 80 guests) and romantic just doing our own thing.

Leading up to the trip, my family and bridesmaids worked like busy bees to make DIY flower crowns and various elements of our welcome bags which included everything from sunblock and lip balm to emergency hangover kits and spicy Ramyun noodles for a late night snack. My good friend, Sarah, designed my beautiful welcome bag graphics all by hand and managed to pull off a last minute request to create a passport booklet so all our guests had an idea as to what to expect for the week.

Tom and I wanted to make the most of our time on the island with our family and friends, so we booked a boat trip excursion a day before our wedding so everyone could get to know one another and just have an amazing time exploring the sea. The day after our wedding, we took our photographers and videographers with us to a nearby waterhole for a trash the dress session. Can I just say, waterproof makeup is one of the best inventions out there? Jumping in the water multiple times proved no challenge for my flawless makeup, thanks to my incredibly talented makeup artist, Christine. Our photos from that afternoon are to die for!

As we look back on the photos from our wedding week, our hearts are filled with so much joy and happiness. We are so thankful to all our families, friends and wedding “friendors” who came all the way to the Dominican Republic to make our wedding week so special. We would do it all again in a heartbeat. Maybe a 20-year vow renewal? We’ll see.

Colorful Jamaica Wedding Designed With Effortless Island Elegance

If I had to describe this wedding in one short phrase, “easy, breezy island elegance” are the words that jump straight to mind. Karen and Mark hoped to give their guests a tropical escape and a celebration set in Montego Bay, Jamaica totally fit the bill. Shannon Leahy Events and Bows & Arrows infused the affair with color-happy moments, and the one and only Sylvie Gil captured everything behind the camera.

From Sylvie Gil… Karen & Mark’s Caribbean wedding was a lovely spring departure from the bustle of city life. The ceremony and reception were highlighted by richly colored island florals, a bright tropical color palette, and coral and pineapple accents. The couple integrated plenty of custom designs with the surrounding Jamaican culture – monogrammed “escort cups” for guests, ikat table runners, local flowers, and steel drums at the farewell brunch. A relaxed and idyllically beautiful affair, this wedding is the definition of effortless island elegance.

A Destination Wedding in Island Paradise

Alexis and Murphy decided to tie the knot in Punta Cana and with one look at the photos by Melissa Jill it’s easy to see why. Think white sand, crystal blue water, and true paradise in every sense of the word. They brought on seasoned wedding pros like The Eventeur to bring their “classic, lux” vision to life, and in our opinion? They nailed it.

From The EventeurAlexis and Murphy were married in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic with the Caribbean palm trees and lapping ocean water as a backdrop. Alexis has family on the island – in fact, her mother was born and raised there –which made the Dominican Republic as meaningful a destination as it was scenic. Punta Cana boasts one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and Alexis & Murphy’s wedding there was an absolute fairy tale from start to finish. But even the glories of nature couldn’t outshine how stunning and joyous the bride & groom looked as they were wed!

The design of the wedding was lux and classic, with white flowers and elegant details, like the pierced wood fans for the guests to use and the perfectly mismatched bridesmaids’ dresses. Tradition and family are important to the couple, and Alexis was moved to tears when Murphy surprised her with his grandmother’s ring as she prepared for the day.

The wedding was also seasoned with vibrant and unique touches, which accented the refined style and made it a perfect fit for the fun, adventurous couple. The groom, who plays minor league baseball, presented his groomsmen with custom bobbleheads, and cocktail hour was energized by the music of a Dominican trio band. The newlyweds and their guests danced the night away beneath the stars.

Boho Chic Wedding on the Beaches of Anguilla

If you’ve ever dreamed of a wedding on the beaches of the Caribbean, glistening ocean as the backdrop with sand squished between your toes – take note from this Anguilla “I do.” Destination wedding extraordinaire, Michelle Rago brought her expertise to the table with paper pretties by Cheree Berry Paper, and it all made for an epic day captured by Braedon Photography. This way to sunny skies and so much more.

From Michelle Rago Destinations… The bride’s father has a gorgeous home on Anguilla where we were able to host both the ceremony and cocktails, which created such a sense of intimacy and family. Eliza was able to get ready in her bedroom and walk straight out past the pool and face the sea for their ceremony.

The inspiration was Bohemian Chic for ceremony. We created a chuppah out of driftwood collected throughout the year and adorned with orchids and hydrangea. We also accentuated the aisle with manzanita and orchids.

The reception dinner and late night fun took place at the Malliouhana Hotel, where Eliza and Chris got engaged. We transformed the restaurant which sits on a cliff overlooking the ocean.

The ceiling was strung with orchids and hanging candles which twinkled and swayed in the breeze. The centerpieces were all white, lush and low. The flowers were white hydrangea and dendrobium and phalaenopsis orchids. We created a lounge for dancing under the stars after dinner and then moved guests up to the pool for late night dance party with fun lighting!

Embracing Beach Glamour on the Shores of Punta Cana

This wedding is bringing all the romance and glamour to the shores of Punta Cana and to say it’s a true beauty would be an understatement. Crafted by Claire Duran Weddings And Events along with palm tree dotted imagery by Asia Pimentel Photography, peek inside a celebration that marries a tropical locale with a stunning alfresco affair. Plus, find even more right here in the vault.

From the Bride…Washington, DC – world’s melting pot – is where a girl from Peru met a guy from New York and their happily ever after began. On May 5th 2016, Jack proposed at top of Huayna Picchu, located in the Cusco Region, after a beautiful hike up. He proposed with the ring that his father gave to his mother when he proposed in 1968. It was beautiful! More than I ever dreamed it would be!

My now Husband and I love to get away, be in the sun- and we figured what better way to celebrate our marriage than surrounded by our family, friends, and the warm culture of the Dominican Republic. We were told 30% of invites don’t come through to destinations weddings, and much to our pleasure we had a 90% return rate on acceptances and over 100 guests. Family and friends from New York, Washington DC, and Peru.

The day itself, was so much fun to be able to do the bridal get-ready suite, the last-minute details from flowers to my 6 year old niece’s flower basket, all in the context of the Caribbean sea and a resort where everyone was having fun. Jack swam out to a reef with his best friend from college/high school the day of our wedding (and even returned!!) and my mother in law played tennis and swam until it was time for hair and make-up. When getting married here, we enjoyed a beautiful view of turquoise colored waters, white sand beaches, and beautiful sunsets. This location was picture perfect! For us, warm tropical weather and an ocean view created the perfect setting. In fact, everything about this location in general is romantic in nature. I wanted a classic and romantic feel, soft muted neutrals with lots of greenery, and the backdrop for our ceremony was the beautiful Caribbean Sea, couldn’t have asked for a better setting.

This Family Affair Will Warm Your Hearts in All Kinds of Ways

You know what’s better than a destination wedding at Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa? Nothing. But add in a gorgeous couple who like to celebrate with breakfast for dinner and it becomes an entirely new level of awesome. From the breathtaking seaside ceremony to that amazing lace gown to the sweetest family ever frolicking on the beach, see it all captured by Dani Leigh Photography in THE VAULT.

Krystle and Greg’s wedding in the Dominican was such a dream. To escape the cold Maryland east coast temps in January was such a thrill for all 80 of her wedding guests who traveled to Punta Cana. It was really important to Krystle and Greg that it felt like a vacation for all their guests with just a little side of wedding thrown into the middle. And that is exactly what they got. The day of their wedding the kids played in the pool in the morning, ate room service in wet bathing suits and then Krystle and her daughter casually walked down to the spa to get their hair and makeup done, and then came back to the room to get ready. Krystle got ready in a dress she found unintentionally in Vegas when she wasn’t even looking for a wedding dress. It was literally perfect for the occasion.

Krystle, Greg and their kids love breakfast food so they convinced the chef to do breakfast for dinner! Which is such an American classic for parents. It was delicious! The Dominicans don’t exactly understand breakfast for dinner so it was quite a concept to explain and make happen. It all worked out, and then why not end the amazing night with some fireworks? A full fireworks display, a surprise from the groom, happened just over palms on the beach for all of their guests. It was such a magical event all beautifully planned by Katina Dawson of A Sweet Affair stateside and Carolina Guzman at Dreams!

A Dream Ballgown For a Beach Ceremony

If you’re under the impression that ballgowns and beach weddings don’t mix, this wedding will come as a pleasant surprise. The bride, Ashleigh wore her dream Lazaro dress for their toes-in-the-sand ceremony and Carrie King made magic happen behind the lens. Believe me, this is one gallery you can’t afford to miss.

From the Bride… Brian and I knew from the start of the wedding planning process that we wanted our wedding to have some very important key elements — not all of which were easy to accomplish simultaneously! We knew that we wanted our wedding to have a romantic and elegant feel while also making our guests feel at home at a spectacular party. After searching high and low from Europe to Mexico to the Caribbean, we were so fortunate to find a venue that was the ideal fit, Casa de Campo.

We were able to have a private toes in the sand ceremony, just as we had imagined for our dream wedding. Directly following, we hosted our reception in the town square of a beautiful cobblestone village on the resort property that makes you feel as if you’ve been transported back in time to 17th century Italy. It truly felt like we were living in a fairytale with the best part being that I got to marry my very own Prince Charming! We danced the night away under the stars with a local band that kept the party going until 3am. It was everything we hoped for and so much more.

The Dress: The first Lazaro gown I ever saw was in a bridal magazine. My 5 year old self decided that one day, when I got married, it would be in a Lazaro. When the time came to actually pick out my dream dress, I jumped into the hunt to find the perfect one by trying on every possible style and designer. After countless appointments from coast to coast, I finally tried on my first Lazaro gown at the Bridal Galleria in San Francisco. I had never worn anything that felt like such a complete expression of my personality. The asymmetrical lines, varied blush hues, intricate embellishments around the waist, and deep v-back all came together in such an artistic way. It was love at first sight! The icing on the cake is that I got to meet Lazaro and hear his vision for the gown. Such a dream come true.

Your style? Laid-back with a big ol’ side of sophistication. Which means rocking a stunning gown that shows some skin and hair + make-up that is just as sleek and glamorous. Jennie Kay suggests pairing your dream dress with a rope braid pony or soft low bun that is dressy enough for a wedding, but is also completely effortless.

LOOK 2: VINTAGE ELEGANCE

You’re a vintage-inspired lady looking to rock that elegant lace number, but still maintain a modern, yet sexy edge. Jennie Kay’s tip? A bright red lip for that much-needed side of sophistication and a stunning updo that frames one side of the face, plus sweeps across the back in a beautiful style that is reminiscent of the past.

“Look at the way you wore your hair at your initial dress fitting. It usually mimics your initial idea on how your hair should be.” – Jennie Kay Beauty

LOOK 4: SWEETLY CLASSIC

For those of you who want to keep it sweet + classic on the Big Day, Jennie Kay suggests a low twisted ponytail that is equal parts show-stopping and wholesome. Pair it with subtle makeup (like a light pink lip) and a gown that has just a pop of sass and the results are absolutely timeless.

LOOK 5: TOUSLED SOPHISTICATION

Waves are a girl’s best friend and when it comes to a wedding day look that is equal parts laid-back and sophisticated, Jennie Kay keeps those tousled waves down with just a few sweet strands pulled back for a look that is all sorts of romantic. Add some soft pink lips and some barely-there makeup to complete the look.

Playful Puerto Rico Engagement Shoot

I’ll forever be a romantic, but my personal favorite reaction captured in photos? Laughter. It’s the most authentic emotion there is and when you can feel that joy radiating from photos, it just doesn’t get much better than that. Case in point: this engagement shoot by Greg Finck; don’t you want to be best friends with this couple? See all the laughs in our Vault right here!

From Greg FinckYasmine and John have been one of my biggest client crushes! They both live in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and booked me for their wedding, which will happen next October in Charleston, South Carolina. John probably is one of the funniest person I’ve met, and I just could not contain myself behind the camera.

I was traveling to Puerto Rico for a wedding, and that’s how Yasmine and John decided to have their engagement session on the island. I loved every minute spent with this adorable couple. As I’m particularly fond of jokes myself, this was nonstop between John and I, and Yasmine just could not stop laughing during the session. I believe the images speak for themselves, and I just love how the humor and good mood is communicative on them. The day after the session, Yasmine and John just invited me for a day at the beach, where we spent the day chatting about the wedding and paddling… I am just so grateful to have crossed their paths, and literally can’t wait for their wedding in Charleston!

Marquee Lights Set the Stage for this Tropical Outdoor Wedding

When planning their wedding in Puerto Rico, this duo skipped anything that wasn’t truly authentic to them, and focused only on what really represented their approach to life and love. The results? Totally worth it. STEM Events created tropical floral masterpieces and ART IS FOR LOVERS captured the blooms and all the other dedicated details – see more in our Vault right here!

From the Bride… Our main goal for our wedding was to showcase the real purpose for why people get married, and that is because two people love each other and have made the decision to venture forward in life together. To us, that meant keeping it simple, and eliminating age old traditions that just didn’t make sense to us. Our goal was to keep the formalities short and sweet and to focus on just having a nice dinner and dance party with our closest family and friends. In doing so we did not have a wedding party, we didn’t do any first dances or cutting of the cake. I think the way in which we planned our wedding showed that we are a laid back couple, and that we are not traditionalists. Ultimately it was our day, but we wanted to make everyone else feel just as joyful, and welcomed and comfortable. And by eliminating some of the traditional things that typically focuses solely on us it allowed for a wedding that made it feel like it was also about friends and family!

We really didn’t want a traditional altar, so our designer came up with just some flowing fabric hanging from the palm trees, that I thought was very beautiful. We used some personalized marquee lights for the reception. When the guests arrived they saw our initials lit up (B&L), and then at the cake table the marquee read YUM, BAR, and in the distance LOVE. It made the scene quite beautiful.

For the escort cards, I painted the inside of shells gold and it had the guests name on it. I placed them on clear glass rocks and in a tray to make it look like oysters on the half shell. To give it that beachy feel. I also tried to add a Puerto Rican feel by creating the menus with the title of “Buen Provecho” which is what Puerto Ricans say before a meal – it essentially mean “Bon Appetit”. I also wanted all my flowers to be something that was native to Puerto Rico or to the Caribbean – in doing so we got a beautiful arrangement of colorful, tropical flowers.

I think it’s really important to just put both your personalities into your wedding as much as possible. Even if others might not understand your choices, for doing this or not doing this, ultimately a wedding is about the two people getting married. Guests will really feel the originality of your wedding and it won’t feel so generic. Try to do certain things on your own if you can. Even if it’s just the tiniest thing, it makes your wedding look even more unique. Details, details, details. Think about little things that you can add to your wedding that will help take it to another level. Personalized napkins for the cocktail hour or in the bathroom. Cocktail straws with your colors. Signage. Cake toppers. Bar menus so your guests know what you’re serving. Gift bags… It was all amazing! Every memory is the best!

A Gold Beaded Gown Set the Stage for a Glam Puerto Rican Wedding

It’s always a given that the bride steals the show on her wedding day. But when she wears a gold beaded gown THIS pretty? It’s stealing the show on a whole other level. With Maria A Lugo and Akua Event Design Group making the couple’s wedding dreams come true, it’s easy to see why their day captured by Enuel Viera went off without a hitch. More in The Vault!

From Akua Event Design GroupDestination weddings in Puerto Rico are intimate and provide an opportunity for guests to relax and enjoy the Caribbean. Plus the bride and groom get to have all of their friends and family at one place, to participate in different activities before the wedding.

We were very excited to design the wedding of Kelly Zerbini and Jesse Gottlieb. Especially, because the lovely bride is an interior designer in New York City and with great tastes. She gave us a clear idea of what she wanted for her special day, but she trusted our design and exhorted to use her board as inspiration. Her vision and ours came together flawlessly.

The design included many natural and rustic elements like wood and glass vases for the floral arrangements, drift wood and clementines which added a special magical touch. For the floral design we used white roses, eucalyptus, wax flowers, succulents and freesias. When you walked into the Salón Martorell you felt an air of sophistication, the color scheme and design meshed wonderfully.

Intimate Puerto Rico Destination Elopement

You know how I feel about intimate weddings (disclaimer: they’re my absolute favorite), so it’s really no surprise that Samantha and Stuart’s celebration has stolen my heart completely. With the talented Elisa Bricker behind the lens, these two jet set off to their favorite vacation spot to say ‘I Do’, and you can see it all firsthand in The Vault!

From Elisa BrickerThis intimate wedding by a New York couple took place in Old Town San Juan, Puerto Rico. Samantha and Stuart chose this spot because it was a favorite vacation destination and had very personal memories for the two of them. They wanted their wedding to be very intimate and meaningful.

Their private ceremony overlooked the sea, in the shadow of the historic Castillo San Felipe del Morro (also known as Fuerte San Felipe del Morro or Morro Castle) – a 16th-century citadel located in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Their classic style included a fitted-with-flare gown by Carol Hannah and a classic tux by J. Crew for the groom. Post ceremony, The couple celebrated with a few friends and family at the Condado Vanderbilt.

Brooklyn Meets the West Indies Destination Wedding

Although Celeste and Chris hail from Brooklyn, they chose to swap sand for skyscrapers and wed in paradise (and honestly – can we blame them?). Inviting Jamie Mercurio along to capture every Caribbean detail, it’s tropical meets timeless and we’ve got it all in The Vault!

From Jamie MercurioAs I sit down to write a bit about this incredible island wedding, I am (as usual) struggling to find words to describe how truly amazing this day was. The colors! The views of Mount Nevis and St. Kitts! The gorgeous family and friends that surrounded Celeste and Chris…The love! So, so much love.

Celeste and Chris hail from Brooklyn, New York, but Celeste’s father is from Nevis, so she grew up traveling to the gorgeous Island and her family has a home there. The two decided to hold their wedding celebration on the island, and it was simply magical. Their ceremony was held at at Cottle Church – a gorgeously historic church built in the early 1800s with dramatic views of Mount Nevis in the background. The wedding was officiated by Celeste’s father, with beautiful spoken pieces woven in by other family members – but I think my favorite part was watching Chris watch Celeste walk down the aisle. These two have so much love for each other.

After the ceremony, we took some portraits with the sun setting behind Mount Nevis, and headed to Paradise Beach for an incredible party. Dreamy twinkle lights surrounded tables and a dance floor was set up in the sand beside the bright blue Caribbean ocean. Guests toasted the couple with heartfelt speeches, enjoyed a beautiful dinner, and danced the night away to the most fun band I’ve ever seen. Beach bonfires and late-night swimming were the perfect way to cap the perfect night.
