When we toured the venue for the first time, Sarah fell in love with their aesthetic and colors. We wanted to marry the scenery with the hotel surroundings, so we opted for pinks, greens, and sky blues to tie everything together.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]
The vibe and the vision were always how we tie in the surrounding settings of the ocean and the desert, with the local style of Baja California, and also make it the couple’s vision too, which Sarah said was ‘earthy, but a tad bit funky and vintage.” Choosing a venue that already had a solid design that fit that style was a helpful way to build off our own design.

“Sean and I met on Bumble in 2017 and bonded over a shared love for a small band no one else seemed to like (The Menzingers). When it came time to propose, he hired that band to play an intimate acoustic set for us after he popped the question. It was AWESOME and I was STARSTRUCK lol”

Food and drink were provided by Hotel San Cristobal. Diablitos, the mocktail of choice, were on the menu all weekend, as were their classic margaritas. The menu consisted of taco bars, fresh fish, vegan flautas, and the most amazing wedding cake. Guests still rave about the signature mocktail even months later!

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]
Florals were designed and curated by Allium Studio Floral, based in Mexico City. They went above and beyond on the ceremony, which we then utilized in our dinner space palette. Allium’s specialty is cool and funky compositions, which is exactly what Sarah wanted.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]
Our cake was provided by Hotel San Cristobal, a delicious vanilla cake. We didn’t do a formal cake cutting, but wanted everyone to have a slice at their seat. The leftovers made it to the pool party the next day, which was a great hangover hit.

“Both Sean and I walked down the aisle to Crave by Paramore because we feel like it summed up our feelings for this incredible weekend: trying to live in the moment, with all of our loved ones, knowing we’re gonna crave to do it all again someday. “

“We asked our wedding planner, Chloe, to officiate our ceremony. She was an integral part of the wedding, and it only felt right to have her round out the year and a half we spent together planning this wedding. Since we are already legally married, she graciously agreed to unofficially officiate our wedding ceremony! She absolutely rocked it, lots of laughs and happy tears. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to do it, and only wished I had had it recorded to watch it all over again.”

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]
Since we did the wedding on Friday, with guest check-in on Thursday, we decided to make Saturday the pool party recovery day. Guests loved just having the day to relax before heading home the next morning, and loved the taco bar, leftover wedding cake, and a poleta cart from town to round it all out.

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]
Fireworks! The first song when the dance floor opened was “Firework” by Katy Perry, and Chloe had coordinated the exact timing with a local firework provider to make it a special surprise for our guests and have the ultimate party starter.
