The wedding design embodied understated luxury with a natural, “wild” charm. Seasonal Sicilian wildflowers, arranged in an unstructured yet refined style, brought the vibrancy of the local countryside to life. This organic aesthetic, paired with great live music and DJ set the tone for the day.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]The couple were engaged in the Alps on a ski trip, as mountains had always been a very important symbol for them both. Peter proposed over breakfast in their hotel room on Francesca’s birthday, mirroring that her father had proposed to her mother on her mother’s birthday also. That and Peter wanted to avoid buying a birthday present![/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Net a Porter. The bridesmaids dresses were all unique as the bride wanted the bridesmaids to look and feel however they felt best, and as such they all came from different vendors, but shared a yellow colour. That freedom to chose reflected the laid back atmosphere of the wedding [/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Peter’s suit came from Suit Supply, and was pure linen in a mid olive green colour. His shoes were brown suede loafers & his cufflinks were a pair of Francesca’s father’s.The groomsmen, similarly to the bridesmaids, wore their own choice of suits for which the only guidance was colourful. [field title=”Food & Drink”]The wedding menu was a celebration of authentic Italian cuisine, showcasing the flavors and ingredients of Sicily with a focus on simplicity and elegance.
First Course:
Guests enjoyed individually plated Italian-style portions. The highlight was orecchiette pasta with prawns, sea urchin, and courgettes, offering a delicate balance of fresh seafood and seasonal produce.
Second Course:
The main dish featured a single option, prepared and plated with Sicilian simplicity. Guests savored local white fish, drizzled with olive oil and lightly seasoned with salt, letting the quality of the ingredients shine. Sides were served family-style to encourage sharing and conversation. The selection included a refreshing rocket and small leaf salad with baby tomatoes and a serving of tender, cooked courgettes.
Alternative Menu:
A vegetarian alternative, pasta alla norma, featuring a rich tomato sauce with eggplant and ricotta, was also served. Both options were plated and served by the catering team for a polished presentation. Followed by a beautifully crafted vegetable timbale, layered with cheese fondue on a potato base, provided a hearty and flavorful alternative.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Florals and Décor: The wedding decor captured the untamed beauty of Sicily, blending natural elements with subtle elegance. The florals featured a “wild” and organic aesthetic, highlighting local and seasonal Sicilian wildflowers such as mimosa, poppies, irises, and other native blooms. This selection brought vibrant color and authenticity to the design, creating an atmosphere deeply connected to the island’s landscapes.
Adding a touch of playful charm, mini cacti were incorporated into the arrangements, enhancing the natural vibe and offering a nod to Sicily’s unique flora. Medium-sized yellow silk ribbons flowed gracefully from the floral displays, introducing a soft and romantic movement that balanced the rustic elements.
The combination of vibrant wildflowers, delicate ribbons, and natural textures created a decor scheme that felt effortlessly sophisticated, celebrating the beauty of Sicily in every detail.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Wedding Cake: The couple chose to forgo a traditional wedding cake, embracing a uniquely Sicilian dessert experience instead. Guests delighted in a variety of artisanal gelato with flavors like pistachio, nuts, and caffè, alongside freshly prepared Sicilian cannoli from a live station. A selection of semifreddo, including almond, lemon, cassata, and hazelnut. To round off the evening, coffee and amaro were served, providing a perfect conclusion to this indulgent and locally inspired feast.

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Francesca and Peter’s ceremony was a heartfelt celebration infused with joyful music and personal touches. Guests were welcomed with the lively tune of Tu Vuo’ Fa’ L’Americano setting an upbeat and vibrant tone.
The procession began with the flower girl, page boys, and bridesmaids walking down the aisle to the romantic melody of Che Vuole Questa Musica Stasera by Armando Trovajolli. As anticipation built, Francesca made her stunning entrance to the soulful rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, creating a magical and emotional moment.
Jack Wakefield opened the ceremony with a heartfelt welcome speech followed by a reading by Carol Rawlence named “Marry your best friend” (Anonymous author). The vows, exchanged between Francesca and Peter under Jack’s guidance, were a beautiful reflection of their love and commitment. Theo Rawlence, the page boy, presented the rings, leading to the eagerly awaited “kiss the bride” moment.
The ceremony concluded on a high note with the couple’s exit to the cheerful and celebratory tune of Make Me Smile by Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, leaving everyone in high spirits as they began the festivities.
