Subtle Nods to Autumn Done Right at Silver Oaks Chateau

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Maroon, shades of red, olive green, hint of navy[/field]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The couple really wanted their wedding day to feel like their own personal style but something that would also be timeless. It was important for the overall design to compliment Fall colors in Missouri, which is their favorite season! The day itself included many personal touches and had a fun, intimate vibe![/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]From Janie: He proposed at the summit of Mount Pierce in the White Mountains in NH. We are working on completing all 48 peaks over 4k ft in elevation and this was stop #8 in that journey. The mountains were covered in snow and the weather was absolutely perfect. We got married in STL where the I (the bride) was born and raised but my husband and I are building a family in New England so it is perfect that the proposal was rooted in the life we have here and one of our favorite things to do together, hiking! After we came down from the summit, we facetimed our families to tell them the big news and then had dinner at our favorite special occasion restaurant where we go every time we have something to celebrate.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]The wedding gown was Alyssa Kristin – Vivian from Madeline’s Daughter in Portsmouth, NH. Janie made sure the gown captured the timeless vibe she was going for. [/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I loved the way the olive green complemented the fall colors but I wanted my bridesmaids/bridesman to feel their best too so I let them choose any dress/fabric type as long as it was a floor-length dress in the olive green fabric color. I love that the difference in fabrics added subtle color differences without there being too many colors/contrast on an already colorful backdrop. We used Revelry to make it easy given my wedding party is dispersed all over the US and it worked perfectly – all of my favorite people looked absolutely stunning![/field]

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Ces and Judy’s provided the catering. In keeping with the Fall season, the dinner included a harvest salad, lemon sage chicken, mustard glazed pork loin, honey balsamic brussel sprouts, and a carrot souffle (a Ces and Judy’s staple!). From Janie: We adore our cats, Poppy & Rocket, so we incorporated them both in the signature cocktail drink name and in the drink stirrers served in those drinks. Friends from our wedding still have these at home to this day :)[/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Flowers were designed by Serendipity Floral Design. Janie wanted the emphasis to be on deep reds and maroon to compliment the Fall colors. Her bouquet included so much texture with use of king proteas, agonis, magic roses, dahlias, and eucalyptus. White anemones and roses were added to the centerpieces for the perfect contrast while still keeping with the romantic vibe.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Cake was from Sarah’s Cake Shop. In keeping with the classic vibe, Janie and Andrew kept the traditional white cake with white buttercream and added pearls for added texture and shine. Serendipity added maroon flowers to the base for the perfect pop of color.[/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]One of my husband’s (and now my) best friends officiated our wedding – it made such a big moment even better having someone we love marry us.

The bride and her dad did a custom choreographed father/daughter dance – it was a surprise to all and an absolute hit! The perfect way to open the dance floor up to our guests

We shared a last dance out on the patio after all of our guests had left. It was acoustically performed by our DJ and it is still a favorite memory from that evening to this day. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]We rented out part of a winery in MO the day after the wedding so we could spend more time with those we love who had traveled near and far to celebrate with us – it was the most perfect ending to the best weekend.[/field]
