A Fairytale Wedding in Chicago at the Amour House

The design was inspired by European chateau with a classic feel. Diana is very drawn to her culture and keeping the Polish wedding tradition prominent with an elevated feel.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Nick and Diana planned a summer vacation to Portugal. While in Porto, Nick surprised Diana with a planned day to one of Portugal’s wine regions, the Duoro Valley. He hired a private chauffuer to guide them to intimate wineries, a boat ride on the Duoro river, and to a family’s home for a traditional Portuguese dinner. When they got back to Porto later that evening, Nick took Diana to a scenic spot of the Porto skyline along the Duoro river and asked her to marry him at sunset. She of course said yes![/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]The gown and veil is made by Martina Liana, 1287. Diana got her local seamstress, Aneta Kalinowski, to add custom sleeves, the overskirt and made the belt wider as well as the straps. She also added in the wrist loop on to the train. [/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bridesmaid dresses were from Baltic Born using the athena pleaded maxi in “gold”. [/field]

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groomsmen black tuxedos were from Emanuele Tuxedo Rentals. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Traditionally Polish weddings offer a large dessert table after dinner for guests to enjoy. For appetizers they offered tuna tartar on a rice cake, as well as other yummy bites such as avocado eggrolls, ceviche in a mini martini glass and chicken satay with a peanut sauce.

They offered raspberry sorbet in between the first course and main entree which was new york strip steak. The food was absolutely raved about from guests, especially the steak. The in house chef did a superb job and got all entrees out gracefully.

Traditionally Polish weddings offer a large dessert table after dinner for guests to enjoy, the desserts certainly did not disappoint. [/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Joana, with Floral Lodge, put together a classic set of bouquets and pieces made with hydrangeas, orchids, roses and snap dragons, ranunculus, lisianthus, playa blanca roses, green viburnum and green hypericum berries! [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]ECBG Cake Studio designed a classic pearl 2 tier cake that was lemon with black currant preserves and black currant butter cream frosting and the other tier was chocolate cake with chocolate ganache with raspberry preserves. [/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]It was at St Paul of the Cross was beautifully crafted by the catholic church with readings from Diana’s brother Christian and Nicks sister Tracy. The prayers of the faithful were said by Dianas other brother, Tommy. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]During the ceremony they did a ring warming, an Irish tradition Nicks mother wanted to do.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The Polish Ceremonial tradition, Powitanie młodej pary chlebem i solą. The meaning behind The bread, salt and vodka ceremony, the bread is offered so that the couple may never know hunger, while the salt embodies the recognition of overcoming of hardships, and the vodka represents abundance of health, cheer and love.[/field]
