The wedding colors had some soft blushes and mustard and pops of black here and there.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]With the bride being a wedding planner herself, a primary goal of hers was to keep their wedding authentic to them. They decided on a modern garden ambience, with soft colors, organic shapes and movement. They added trees and greenery into the reception to soften the venue and added warm linens and lighting to add to the space. A few personal choices included exchanging private letters before the ceremony without seeing each other, having her boss officiate their wedding and a few military traditions that were special to her groom, Jackson. [field title=”Proposal Story”]Their proposal is Kelly’s favorite memory of their love story. A few months after moving to Austin and working as a wedding planner, it was routine for her to assist her boss, Bianca, on wedding days. She didn’t bat an eye when she asked her to assist with a wedding where the “bride” requested vendors wear cocktail attire. It wasn’t until Kelly opened the doors to the greenhouse when she realized what was happening! Jackson welcomed her, there was music playing, candles and white petals everywhere. After the most heartfelt proposal, he surprised her with her closest friends. It was the most special day and she felt so lucky to have best friends and a boss who would work so closely with Jackson to accomplish the perfect surprise. They later used the same song he had playing during the proposal as the song for her processional down the aisle. [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]

Kelly wanted to find a modern yet romantic gown. She was looking for something with a soft, flowy texture, a modern shape, and subtle details. The first time she saw a photo of Alena Leena Bridal’s Armeria gown – she knew it was the one! She was covered in chills the first time trying it on. In order to keep the integrity of the gown, her seamstress decided to skip adding a bustle. However, she did not want the train to be ruined on the dance floor – which led her to find a reception gown. Having the opportunity to wear two outfits, she wanted them to be completely different. She chose a sleek, satin gown with a high neck and open back for the reception look.

Bridesmaid’s dresses were a silky soft pink from Revelry.

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Getting married in uniform was important to Jackson, however, they wanted him to stand out from a typical military wedding. After some searching, they decided on a less common white and black dress uniform. They discovered the clothier had stopped making this uniform so they worked with them to have his jacket custom made.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The couple cut their cake with Jackson’s sword which was so fun! They also included a bottle of champagne with it for the two of them to pop and enjoy alone together afterwards. [/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]A modern garden ambience, with soft colors, organic shapes and movement. They added trees and greenery into the reception to soften the venue and added warm linens and lighting to add to the space.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Another military tradition was their cake cutting. To go with his new uniform, they knew Jackson would be getting a saber. To make it special to their wedding, they had it engraved with their wedding date. Of course – Kelly wanted to balance the moment out with a little romance by surrounding their cake in a bed of flowers. Kelly was brought to tears when she saw the reception space design come to life.[/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]They included a few military traditions. First being the iconic saber arch as they recessed down the aisle. Being a romantic at heart, Kelly had their guests also toss petals during this moment. After Jackson’s best man patted Kelly and welcomed her to the Army family, they were able to kick off the rest of the night. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]

After he proposed, they decided to create a family crest. They included D, for their last name. Mountains and stars to represent their love for nature and star gazing. Peonies; her favorite flower. This crest was used throughout their wedding day design and was engraved on a signet ring, which Jackson wears as his wedding band.
