California Wedding Weekend at Rosewood Sand Hill

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Christina and her mother chose two different color palettes for our wedding. The cocktail hour was white and blue and the dinner reception was navy base with pops of light pinks, peaches, whites, and greens—brought in by bountiful and lush florals.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Event Info: Christina & Trever’s wedding weekend experience began on the breathtaking grounds of Oakland California Temple with close family and friends. The celebration continued downtown San Fransisco at the iconic GOTTs for a sunny welcome party. A very meaningful location for the couple who started to get acquainted with each other along the stunning docks with views of the bay. The following day guests were invited to the luxurious Rosewood Sand Hill for cocktail hour on the lawn. The rest of the day was filled with heartfelt toasts and they danced the night away.

Design/Vibe/Vision: The Brides mother, Janna, is an interior designer by trade and an avid gardener. They chose a chic garden party theme that was reflective of the Bride’s childhood memories in her parents English home garden. This went perfectly with the Rosewood Hotel grounds and the early summer wedding date in June.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Christina and Trever were introduced by friends in San Francisco! Their first date was on the Embarcadero for dinner and an evening stroll. Their relationship grew naturally and easy. To ring in 2023, Trever took Christina on the same walk as their first date down a pier and proposed overlooking the San Francisco Bay!

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Christina said when it came to her dress it was love at first sight! It was the first wedding dress she tried on and she instantly knew it was the one. She comes from a family of all girls—so for fun she tried on her two older sister’s wedding dresses. Interestingly, while they all have the same day-to-day style they all chose very different wedding dresses. It confirmed that the dress she chose was perfect for her!

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Christina’s sisters were her bridesmaids and she wanted them to choose something that they felt beautiful in. The dress theme developed naturally when one of her sister’s found the perfect floral dress in Palm Beach. They then decided to blend patterns and buy dresses from the same designer but not have any of their dresses match.

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Trever dressed in a classic black tux. Traditionally in black tie weddings, grooms can wear white jackets. But Christina liked the juxstaposition of her in offwhite, and him in black.

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Christina and Trever love seafood and the fresh farm-to-table food California is known for. They worked closely with the Rosewood Hotel’s head chef to create a special menu complete with fresh oysters, caviar and arranchini’s. They chose a passion fruit mocktail for Christina’s specialty drink because it reminded her and her family of Hawaii, their favorite vacation place. Trever chose a blood orange mocktail as a nod to his favorite sports team—the Portland Blazers.[/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Christina and her mother loved the idea of incorporating hydrangeas throughout the wedding since her garden is full of large hydrangea bushes. They decided to go big with them at cocktail hour! Emily of Flower Girl Em created two large statement arrangements on either side of the bar to anchor it and then again on the escort display table. For dinner, they chose colorful lush floral arrangements on each of the guest tables with sweet peas, pansies and garden roses. They wanted the florals to pop so they decided to go with a beautiful navy linen from BBJ La Tavola and then added white and blue paper goods designed by the bride’s sister to tie everything together.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Christina and Trever love dessert—but not cake. To do something unexpected, they chose to serve guests three mini dessert tastings—mini lemon tart, chocolate pot de creme and a mini berry crumble.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]As a thank you for helping me through life and the wedding process, Christina gifted her sisters/bridesmaids a pinky signet ring with their initials on it. They later gifted Trever and her a book about their love story.
