[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Alle and Stewart wanted to create a sense of timeless romance, combined with the gorgeous backdrop of Maui, Hawaii.

The couple wanted an elegant and classy feel, with lots of white florals and hues of peach and blush. They envisioned thousands of fairy lights after sunset to create a magical glow over the whole venue with everyone dancing the night away to provide an experience that would be etched in the memories of all their friends and family. This vision was perfectly executed by the amazing team at Opihi Love Wedding Planning and Design.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]After moving to Singapore at the beginning of the Covid lockdowns, Stewart started planning his proposal to Alle. From designing her Engagement Ring, to surprising her with a staycation for their anniversary at Singapore’s famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel, it was then he proposed on the Skydeck overlooking the bright lights of the Singapore city skyline. Everything had been coordinated with the hotel in fine detail, to the point of Alle getting suspicious because Stewart was almost too organised for someone who is “flexible” with time. While he was getting down on one knee proposing, their two best friends were down in the hotel suite decorating the room with hundreds of balloons, flowers and champagne so the celebrations could begin! It was the most magical weekend the two could have asked for.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Alle wore the beautiful “Livia” gown by an Australian designer, Le Lee studio, through the amazing Eternal Bridal in Sydney Australia, with a lovely V-shape neckline and exquisite handwork of 3D embroidery flowers throughout the gown. She wanted something romantic & elegant, with a touch of drama through the gorgeous long train and an even longer veil. This was not the style of dress Alle thought she would have gone for (or later found out Stewart thought she would go for), but it was the second dress she ever tried on, and one she couldn’t stop thinking about and going back to! [field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Alle’s Maid of Honor was dressed in a beautiful dusty pink satin Shona Joy dress and the two Bridesmen, her cousin and brother, wore custom navy suits from Australia with a dusty pink pocket square.[/field]

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Stewart is extremely proud to be Scottish and in keeping to tradition for a Scottish wedding, Stewart alongside his father and his two best men, donned Highland Skye Kilts with traditional waistcoat, jacket and dusty pink crava. Stewart’s Arrochar blue Crail waistcoat and jacket was custom made, as was his white rabbit fur sporran which he also had engraved with a special message for Alle to remember their special day. Stewart gifted the Father of the Bride a matching tartan tie to wear with his custom navy suit.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The menu was created in close collaboration between Cutting Edge Catering and the couple. Since Alle is Italian, she really wanted to make sure the menu was a perfect balance between embracing the food of Hawaii with an Italian influence.

For appetisers during cocktail hour, they served Charcuterie cups, Mochiko chicken with unagi glaze, Bufala mozzarella, tomato, watermelon, and basil skewers and Hawaiian ahi poke on a puffed rice crisp.

The starter course was a hearty (Italian-sized) portion of Prosciutto and pecorino risotto with gremolata and black garlic.

Mains were a choice of Beef Ribeye, potato au gratin, bone marrow bordelaise and asparagus “Béarnaise”, Hawaiian Catch with spiced Asian pears, sake kaffir butter and Molokai potato puree or Roasted Cauliflower steak, rosemary Tuscan potatoes and pistachio date pesto.

After some cocktails and dancing, guests were served a late-night snack of Pork tacos on corn tortillas!

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]We worked with Bella Bloom Floral Boutique and had an absolutely stunning orchid bouquet with the most gorgeous white orchids that were flowing as she walked down the aisle.

Alle and Stewart had a tough time deciding on florals for the tables because the backdrop of the beach with the palm trees by itself is so stunning, but they knew they wanted lots of white flowers for the ceremony arch and white rose petals coming down the aisle.

Alle wanted the decor to feel romantic, elegant and whimsical – but since Stewart has the better eye for design, he helped select the gold cutlery, white plates, classic clear glasses and round tables to meet Alle’s vision board. Thousands of fairy lights were strung over the dancefloor with an amazing curved bar overlooking the waves. [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake was a multi-tiered vanilla sponge with buttercream and pink and blush real flowers as decoration.

[/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Stewart chose to walk down the aisle to John Legend’s “All of Me”, and Alle walked down the aisle to Hayley Reinhart’s version of “I Can’t help falling in Love”, which she managed to keep a secret from Stewart until the ceremony.

Seeing Alle walk down the aisle brought Stewart to tears (as she hoped). The ceremony was performed by one of their closest friends, who officiated the most personal and beautiful service that brought tears of happiness and laughter to many in attendance.

Alle and Stewart’s first dance was to “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith, and even though they hadn’t practised nearly enough, they still managed to time their dips with the cold sparks in the background, which made for a perfect photo opp.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Leo was their adorable Bichon Frise puppy in Singapore but unfortunately passed away in a tragic accident after his 1st birthday. He was the love of both their lives and meant so much to them, so he had to be remembered as part of the day through the beautiful bar signage with his picture and an ice stamp created using his paw print for each individual ice cube for the signature cocktails. Aloha Bars flawlessly delivered on all the personal touches they asked for throughout the day.

[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Stewart has always been a Porsche fan, so when he had the opportunity to have a vintage Classic Ivory 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster as a backdrop at the wedding, it was a no-brainer! The car perfectly matched the vintage look and feel of many parts of the venue and complemented the classic elegance of many other wedding details and was a big hit with guests “for the gram”!

[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Stewart loves to create cocktails at home, so it was important for the couple to design custom cocktails for guests to enjoy at the reception.

One of Stewart’s favourite cocktails is a Margarita which they named “Feelin’ Salty” (in a nod to the beach setting), and Alle wanted something refreshing, so she created a “Strawberry Fizz” named ” Isn’t she Bubbly” since her father-daughter dance was to Stevie’s Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely”.

Aloha Bars went above and beyond to make the cocktails memorable for their guests with surprises such as a smoke bubble on the cocktails to create an extra wow factor.

Another of Stewart’s favourite cocktails is an Espresso Martini, which were passed around after dinner to get the dancing started!
