Timeless Elegance at Chileno Bay Dripping in Orchids

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Welcome Party: bright pinks, oranges, blues

White Party / Rehearsal Dinner: all white with a hint of blush pink to match the bride’s gown!

Wedding: Neutrals: warm whites, beiges, creams, hints of light gray[/field]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]I wanted the wedding to be a direct reflection of my personal taste: clean, timeless, classic, casual, fun. I wanted the event to be casual and easy while still wowing people when they arrived to every event. [/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]AJ and Morgan visited New York City for Morgan’s 24th birthday. He had flown to NYC 4 months prior to take her grandmother’s diamond to the jeweler to become a side stone in Morgan’s engagement ring. AJ suggested heading to Dumbo for the day to go to Morgan’s favorite lunch spot: Cecconi’s. They decided to talk a walk near the water after – where AJ had a proposal planned and photographer waiting! [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]I purchased my wedding gown in Dallas at Stanley Korshak salon just 2 months before being diagnosed with cancer. It was the 5th dress I tried on and we immediately knew it was the one – we cancelled all of our other showroom appointments and purchased it on the spot! It is Gracy Accad. [/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bridesmaids dresses are from Bec & Bridge. I wanted something that they could wear again (I know, everyone says this) but really! They can throw a sweater over it with boots in the winter or head to a nice dinner on the beach with some sandals. It is super versatile and will always be classic. [/field]

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groomsmen were scattered all over the country, so we had to find a solution that would work for all of them. They purchased these suits and get to keep them forever. They are from Suit Shop and were absolutely perfect! [/field]

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]We traveled to Cabo and created a menu with the most talented team of chefs, sommeliers, and cocktail artisans that Chileno could offer. We made custom cocktails to fit our personalities! The welcome party was Mexican food that they prepared and our guests served themselves. The white party was served family style and the menu was full of pizzas, pastas, fresh veggies, and heavenly churros and s’mores for dessert. The wedding night menu was 4 courses consisting of a lobster tostada, truffle corn chowder, your typical steak, chicken, or fish option, and then plated chocolate banana cake with an espresso martini shot accompanying. Then, of course, we dished up some red velvet wedding cake! The night ended with late night snacks like popcorn chicken, buffalo chicken sliders, and a few other yummy bites. [/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]I am lucky that I had 3 nights that all had a very different feel to them – the welcome party was very “Cabo” with bright, fun colors and vibrant music. The flowers were absolutely stunning. The white party, my dream event, was decorated in all white with some greenery to warm the space. My gown was a blush pink, so we incorporated a touch of that as well. The wedding night was as classic as it gets – timeless, stunning, simple; the stunning venue doesn’t require much to make it beautiful! [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We fell head over heels in love with Chileno’s red velvet cake – it was a must! I wanted the outside to match the feel of the night – it is a 3-tiered square cake with some orchids flanking the edges. [/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]AJ and I are not particularly religious, so we had my uncle officiate the ceremony. A Cabo wedding isn’t technically legal anyways! My only requirement for him was: “fun”! He had all of our guests dying laughing and it was the most amazing ceremony I could have ever dreamt up. Every one of our guests said that it couldn’t have been more “us”. We loved it![/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Being diagnosed with cancer changes your perspective on life, obviously, and I knew that I wanted a small wedding where I could spend ample amounts of true, quality time with each of our guests that travelled from all over to come and celebrate with us. My immediate concern after being diagnosed was that I would need to move or cancel our weekend. AJ and I decided that because Cabo weddings aren’t legal anyways, we wanted to elope beforehand and keep it just between us two. We spent our one-year engagement anniversary (and my 25th birthday) weekend in Vegas and we eloped! We got married at the Little White Chapel and split a Sprinkles red-velvet cupcake afterwards. It was so intimate and special and we ended up telling all of our guests at the Cabo wedding! [/field]
