The couple wanted to have a cozy wedding where each other’s families could talk and relax. And we wanted to make a wedding where we would be grateful to our parents who raised us, not ourselves. Due to the corona virus, my family in Japan could not come except my mother, but the number of new families increased and it was a very happy ceremony. For the venue, I searched for a chic place with French decorations (atmosphere like a castle).

[field title=”Proposal Story”]My husband’s younger brother was studying in Japan, and I met him in Kyoto when he came to see him. The moment we met, we both fell in love at first sight and exchanged contact information. After that, we kept in touch with each other every day via e-mail and Skype over a long distance. After that, six months later, when I went to Paris, he proposed to me, and we got married after a year of dating.[/field]

The couple picked family owned venue / hotel, Hotel Alfred Sommier, that would offer family style mansion that has elegant, calm and discrete environment. Located in the mansion’s large dining room and canopy, it can be connected to the Salon doré with its beautiful Louis XV decorations. It opens on to the private garden and can also be extended into the garden if the weather permits. The cane medallion chairs and Alfred Sommier’s monogram on the Gien tableware convey the feeling of attending a family dinner.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Because of Covid situation, the couple had to put their wedding ceremony on hold for awhile and when things got eased up, wanted to have cozy family gathering in the Paris even though a lot of family member couldn’t make it. [/field]
