Patina Inspired Wedding at Commodore Perry Estate Complete With Boho Style

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The color scheme for Ari and Derek’s wedding centered around earthy tones, including alabaster stone and copper patina, as well as natural shades of mauve, pink, and neutral tones for the floral arrangements.[/field]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Ari and Derek’s wedding was a celebration of textures inspired by the dynamic nature and beauty of patina, incorporating elements like natural stone candle holders, embroidered linens, and copper patina accents alongside the rich textures of the floral arrangements. Our goal was to fully immerse guests in Ari’s vision of an ethereal garden. Each decor piece was thoughtfully selected to serve a purpose, from the incense burning during the ceremony to the books placed on the backbars, creating a cohesive and meaningful experience for all in attendance.[/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Ari & Derek once carved their initials into a tree while on a walk together in Pease Park. Four years later, for a Valentine’s Day picnic, Derek brought Ari back to their tree and to her surprise, had carved something new: “Marry me?” [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Ari chose the spectacular Rue De Seine Adara off-white wedding dress with the additional sleeves. The perfect designer for such a creative bride. [/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Ari wanted her bridesmaids to look stunning while complementing the natural beauty of the wedding design. To achieve this, she chose elegant bridesmaid dresses from Revelry in a carefully curated palette of taupe, latte, and rose tones. The dresses’ muted hues perfectly matched the overall wedding color scheme, which featured a range of earthy tones, from the rich greenery to the copper patina accents. The dresses’ textures and details, such as lace overlays and delicate embroidery, added depth and visual interest to the bridesmaids’ look, while still maintaining a cohesive aesthetic with the rest of the wedding design[/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]For the menu again we focused on the guest experience. Three options were provided to appeal to all guests appetites. Followed up by an amazing wedding cake and a torched meringue ice cream station! The bride and groom’s signature drinks were an Elderflower Margarita and an Elder Whiskey Ginger. [/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral design took the most time to plan out as it needed to have natural textures but also feel romantic. Jill at Layered vintage pulled together a unique collection of blooms, grass textures, unique dried pieces and foraged elements to create the ultimate floral design for Ari. The bridal bouquet was the star of the wedding, along with the floral installation over the head table. [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]One of the most unique wedding cakes, I have had in over 10 years of producing weddings. This chocolate Nutella cake was all about layers and textures and playing off of the stationery design from Jolie and Co. To top it off, each slice of cake was served with a stopper of whiskey on top to infuse the chocolate if desired. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]We converted the Commodore Perry Chapel into a Tulum-inspired lounge for the post-reception dance party. The space featured unique lounge furniture, bar areas, and vibrant floral arrangements suspended above the dance floor. This transformation transported our guests to a new and exciting atmosphere to close out the night. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Jolie and Co’s stationery played a significant role in the wedding design, featuring natural paper with elegantly hand-dipped watercolor edges, adorned with tasteful copper accents. The stunning set added to the overall beauty of the wedding design, enhancing the overall aesthetic.[/field]
