From Opihi Love Wedding & Event Design… Kristine and Jason waited years to finally have their dream intimate wedding on Maui – but even the with reschedule – it was worth the wait! This wedding was so special. Kristine and Jason incorporated so many fun details to make their guests experience amazing. Plus, everyone got to enjoy time in Hawaii! Talk about a much needed vacation for everyone after the past few years!

Kristine and Jason’s wedding was a formal affair, but still laid back and fun. Their details were sophisticated but the feeling of their wedding was a fun celebration. They decided not to have a wedding party, as their wedding was intimate enough that they could spend so much time with each guest.

As guests arrived for the oceanfront Maui wedding ceremony, they were serenaded by an amazing ukulele player and singer. They all ooh’ed and ahhh’ed over the incredible view right on the ocean waters. The ceremony was officiated by Kahu Ka’alekahi who shared the meaning of Aloha with all of their guests and ended the ceremony with a traditional blow of the conch shell as the couple kissed at the end of the aisle.

During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed shave ice and custom crafted cocktails while we snuck the couple away before the sun set to take their bride and groom portraits. It was such a nice moment for Kristine and Jason to spend time together on their own with the incredible view of the West Maui mountains. As the sun set into the water, it was so fun to see everyone enjoying cocktail hour from a distance.

We collaborated with Kristine to create a sophisticated and contemporary design with a focus on a very popular flower found on the islands, a white dendrobium orchid. The hexagon wedding arch was adorned with gorgeous stems of white orchids and we carried the flowers into the table centerpieces. The tables were simple but elegant with clean letterpress menus and black dipped flatware.

The evening continued with a delicious meal, first dances, cake cutting, individual pies from Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop (a Maui must try), and an hour of EDM jams to cap off the evening. It was such a fun celebration!
