Today’s Cliff House wedding at Montage Kapalua Bay is your perfect blueprint for an intimate, tropical fête. Designs by Hemingway brought the entire event to life with suspended installations lush with bouganvillea, shower tree, orchids & accents of roses. The couple opted for creams and soft yellow tones instead of the typical tropic-inspired palette. This wedding will inspire you with delightful buttercream details, from a pop cycle refreshment bar to local shower tree flowers in season just for the occasion. After a joy filled ceremony with closest family and friends, these two lovers basked in a Hawaiian sunset that’s the stuff of dreams.
From designer/stylist Debbie Hemingway at Designs by Hemingway… I fell in love with this venue the first time I walked down to the cliffside to this charming historical house! Styling a wedding here was a dream come true for me so when Christopher & Mariko booked the property at the Montage Kapalua Bay for their intimate Maui wedding, I started styling the florals for this unique venue.
I designed a hanging floral installation over their long dining table . The suspended floral from the ceiling was a lush dripping garden of bouganvillea, shower tree, orchids & accents of roses spilling over top of rattan lanterns. We kept the design on the table top simple with candles, ceramic matte hand made vessels with dill, ranunculus, & accents of locally grown shower tree blooms in soft yellows, cremes and white color palette.
We curated the ocean front ceremony to blend with the couple’s Cliffhouse wedding reception floral scape with a blooming garden aisle of yellow dill, white Shasta daisies, and Queen Anne’s lace meandering through natural seating for their guests.
