From Brooke at Honey Gem Creative… On a gorgeous sunny spring Saturday in April, among the live oak and wildflowers of central Texas, family and friends came together to celebrate Kayla and Will at the timeless Grand Lady. The color palette was romantic with stunning pastel blooms that felt like an elegant garden party, complimenting the couple so well.
One of the key events that paved the way to Kayla and Will meeting was her decision to forgo law school for a job offer to work at Facebook in San Fransisco where she would know nobody. Regardless of that, Kayla decided to take off on an adventure. She had trials her first year, but then met Will and the rest was history! Five and a half years ago Kayla made the second best decision of her life, she swiped right on Will.
After a stint of bad dates Kayla was ready to delete the app but just before she did so, she was matched with a handsome man from Chicago who invited her to get margaritas on a Sunday afternoon. During the first few months of dating, they bonded over their love for music, movies and television but also sometimes being a lonely and homesick transplant in SF. Immediately she loved his Midwestern values, love for cooking and passion for cycling.
As their relationship deepened and she got to know his heart, she felt even more in love with him. How charming and chivalrous he is, while still empowering her. Earlier, Kayla mentioned the second best decision of her life, but her first is saying “yes” to Will. She said Will is everything she’s every hoped for and everything she’ll ever need. No matter where their marriage takes them, he will always be home to her.
