Did You Know We Had Castles In The States? Here’s One of Our Favorites

Ever since you were little, you’ve been dreaming of your fairytale wedding, with your big dress, your true love, and what fairytale wedding would be complete without a castle? These days, travel is a little more complicated than it used to be so many couples are limiting their venue search to domestic locations. But, did you know that we have castles right here in the US? One of our faves, Saint Clements Castle in Connecticut dates back to the 1800s and is modeled after timeless 16th-century European estates. It has been lovingly restored and turned into not one but THREE gorgeous and unique event spaces that are just waiting for you to discover them! All three of the event spaces are located on the estate’s sprawling grounds and surrounded by unique gardens, charming courtyards, and an abundance of natural beauty. See which one speaks to you…

River’s Edge at Saint Clements Marina

The newest addition to Saint Clements Castle & Marina, River’s Edge was created to mimic the historic exterior of the estate but boasts some beautifully modern upgrades like hardwood flooring, exposed wood beams, and crystal chandeliers. Oh, and did we mention that it has panoramic windows that showcase unrivaled views of the Connecticut River and let the gorgeous natural light pour in. River’s Edge can accommodate up to 140 guests for a lovely plated dinner. For your ceremony, couples are welcome to use the spacious Pier for a true waterfront experience. This event space is perfect for the couple who wants a beautiful rustic wedding with a bit of a modern twist.

Prince Edward Ballroom

Light and airy and trimmed with coffered ceilings, stunning Firenze crystal chandeliers, wainscoted walls, a large dance floor, and Chiavari chairs, the Prince Edward Ballroom is what you think of when you think royal wedding. Its neutral color palette is perfectly timeless and will complement any wedding design. The property’s nearby sunken garden is the ideal space for an outdoor ceremony. Original stone steps lead down into a beautifully manicured garden that screams romance! The Prince Edward Ballroom can accommodate up to 260 guests and is perfect for a big fairytale wedding.
