There’s nothing more important than family, and this couple decided to celebrate that on their wedding day. They looked for meaningful ways to incorporate both the bride’s Chinese heritage and the groom’s Alabama roots, and the results carefully curated by Kelly Patriceare a breath of fresh air. From Kelly Patrice… When I began working with Katie and Troy, it was clear from the very beginning that their families were very important to them. The planning process included Katie’s parents and we made great emphasis into where they came from and what they wanted their wedding to look like. We worked to add personal touches to their day so that their guests could feel the time and attention we put into their design.
Katie’s family is half Chinese, so we brought in the “double happiness” symbol into their stationery and day of goods. We used a wax seal with the symbol on it for their invitation suite, and then used the same one for their table numbers and escort display. We also had a red silk cloth for their guestbook, which is a family tradition that was passed down to them, where each guest signed a personal message on the cloth.
Troy loved the rustic elements of Cielo Farms, so we used farm tables and accents of wine barrels throughout the venue to incorporate some personal nods to his hometown in Alabama.
