Modern Meets Classic At This Sunny Vermont Wedding

Sara and Dan got married surrounded by flowers in full bloom at Hildene, the Lincoln family home, under a sunny Vermont sky. Originally planned for 2020, Sara and Dan’s wedding was pushed back twice but the silver lining was sweeter than anything: the museum’s coveted and famous peony gardens were in their full glory for their rescheduled wedding date. Lily of the Valley filled the day with lush white blooms making the couple’s vision of modern elegance a reality. Jackie Fox Photography captures all the magical moments perfectly for artful imagery that stands the test of time, see them all now in the full gallery.

From the bride… Dan and I met during our sophomore year at Fordham University. We had the same friend group, and well, the rest is history! Fast Forward twelve years (including six years long distance!) and one global pandemic, and that same group of friends stood beside us, as members of our wedding party as we said “I Do”.

We always knew we would get married at Hildene, the Lincoln Family home, given our shared love of history, politics, Vermont, and proximity to my family’s second home. The venue set the tone for the wedding.

The overall aesthetic for the day really was a balance between “old, new and blue.” From the venue to the signature drinks (champagne cocktail and manhattans) we honored our old-fashioned sensibilities. But we tried to keep everything clean, fresh and modern looking with blue & white table cloths, blue goblet glasses, and white and blue seasonal flowers.
