Prepare to Be Inspired by This “Less Is More” Simplistic Wedding Design at a Private Estate in Napa Valley

When the bride is a fashion buyer, you know her wedding is guaranteed to be completely fashion-forward! Jackie’s keen design sense beautifully translated into a “less is more” vision for this lovely fall day in Napa Valley, California. Incorporating the finest and simplistic details, Detailed Touch Events planned the day to perfection. We have a fondness for everything delicate and dainty, so it’s no wonder why the flowers delivered by Charlotte & Daughters are the most adorable white blooms we’ve ever seen. Head on over to the full gallery, elegantly captured by The Ganeys, for a major dose of inspo and romance!

From Detailed Touch EventsJackie and Andrej’s wedding was exciting to take on because Jackie, a fashion buyer, has a beautifully trained eye for chic and timeless fashion that translated into a “less is more” simplistic wedding design. My love for design is rooted in my background in fashion marketing and production so I knew this was a great fit. The planning process was going impeccable for 6 months and then Covid hit. Planning this wedding in the middle of Covid was a strain that so many people can relate to.

A couple months prior to their wedding, Jackie and Andrej made the difficult decision to downsize their wedding guest list from 200 to less than 40 so they could move forward with their original wedding plans. Then a couple weeks prior to their wedding, the original venue’s county was on a mandated stay at home order to which we had to move to another venue. The new location was in a different county (hours away) without the state mandate restrictions.

This changed all of the logistics and flipped the wedding design upside down. We had to forgo all of the rentals that Jackie and I meticulously planned for months as well as source a couple of new vendors. With of all of the obstacles Jackie and Andrej were faced with, they continued to handle each hurdle with grace. It is a true testament to their love of each other; knowing that at the end of the day, marriage and starting their new life together as one is what will always be most important!

From the bride, Jackie… Our wedding story was anything but normal! When we first started planning in 2019, we knew that we wanted to have a full wedding weekend with our families. We are both one of six children and have very large extended families so we were expecting to have a huge wedding. But then COVID hit and all of that went out the window. Our wedding was planned for September 2020, and in June, we made the decision to have a family-only wedding in Carmel. The weeks leading up to our wedding, we realized that the venue’s county would still be on restrictions so we had to pivot locations.

Simultaneously, California was being engulfed in smoke from wildfires. We were absolutely devastated. We had already planned and paid for everything and our family had changed and canceled plans to attend our wedding so canceling the entire wedding last minute wasn’t an option. We were prepared to have a last-minute backyard wedding at the very least! Thankfully we found a beautiful private estate in Northern California that could house our entire family for the weekend. Our planner and all of our vendors were amazing in being flexible to help us safely pull off a wedding in under two weeks. The smoke from the wildfires miraculously cleared for the three days during our wedding weekend and it ended up being the most amazing weekend we could have asked for. It wasn’t the wedding we planned for, but we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.
