A bright and sunny color palette and panoramic ocean views welcomed guests to this California wedding day! With stationary that you won’t believe is a DIY by the bride and groom, a modern minimalist vibe, and the perfect blending of Vietnamese and American traditions, this is a special day you won’t be able to get out of your head. Natalie Bray, a true romantic at heart, artfully shot the love and romance of the celebration. You’re guaranteed to adore all the details in the full gallery.
From the bride… When we toured Scripps Seaside Forum for the first time, the hilltop seaside venue and beach backdrop reminded us of our summer nights in the French-Spanish city, San Sebastian. We really wanted to achieve the minimalist “less is more” feel to not take away from the uniqueness of the venue. Not a lot of venues can offer a panoramic view of the ocean from ceremony to sunset to reception.
Believe it or not, we did our Save the Dates, Invitations, Menu, and Wedding Signs all ourselves! All stationary and calligraphy done by yours truly, bride and groom. It was very helpful to have a groom with a master’s in Architecture and have friends with acrylic laser cutters. I can recall several fun nights after work, sitting in our living room, dreaming about what we wanted our stationery details to look like.
It was really important for us to blend Vietnamese and American traditions. All our family and friends know that we live to eat and we are the ultimate foodies. We worked really hard with our caterer, MIHO, to curate a cocktail hour menu that contained elevated flavors for our guests and made sure that carried into the six dinner courses. Fun fact: a typical Vietnamese wedding will serve about 9-10 courses!
