With engagement season upon us, there is no better way to get inspired than by the 654-acre estate, better known as Filoli in California, surrounded by overflowing gardens! Callista & Company created a contemporary garden party to get our hearts racing filled with dreamy floral designs by Studio Mondine and cloud-like bridal gowns by Vera Wang! From Callista & Company…There is no better place to get inspired for wedding season than at Filoli, a 654-acre estate with sprawling formal gardens and one of the finest remaining country homes of the early 20th century.

Our fine art, contemporary, garden party design exhibited central themes of intentionality, rich tones balanced by a base of neutral textures, and a sense of well-mannered frivolity. We started the day running around the estate in grand Vera Wang gowns, then our models got garden party-ready in Dolce and Gabbana and Armani.

Studio Mondine’s dreamy floral design enhanced the surrounding landscape, without overshadowing it. An installation of low arrangements surrounded The Wedding Place, the original grounds of the first wedding on property, in 1941, when the estate was still a private residence. An assortment of high and low arrangements with spring’s best blooms lined a long table set between tall garden hedges.

Lotus and Ash expertly blended chinoiserie inspired graphics with modern typography. The invitation suite featured a shantung silked covered booklet and envelope liner, striking prints, and custom architectural line art of the historic structures at Filoli. Our escort cards were delicately staked in a bed of flowers, for guests to pluck at their leisure during cocktail hour. The dinner menus were thoughtfully backed on rattan, echoing other touches of rattan in the overall event design. Lacie Hansen, as always, captured everything perfectly.
