If you’ve been thinking all these years that hydrangeas are just a filler flower – then think again, my friends. These cloud-like blooms are stunning enough to be the main event of any wedding, and these dreamy nuptials at Pelican Hill Resort planned by A Good Affair Wedding & Event Production prove just that. Prepare to dive into a sea of blooms in dusty blue and cream hues arranged beautifully by Nisie’s Enchanted Florist. Just wait until you see the groom’s reaction when he sees his blushing bride captured perfectly by Jenny Quicksall Photography. We couldn’t be more in love with this day.
From Natalie Good, A Good Affair… Allegra and James are the quintessential college sweethearts! After college they settled into tech jobs in SF. When James popped the question they knew exactly where they wanted to get married, The Resort at Pelican Hill in Allegra’s hometown, Newport Beach. They came to me wanting to create a unique design for their destination wedding weekend.
We created a gorgeous palette of dusty blues and set out to bring a Coastal Chic design to life. From the unique custom monogram to the dusty blue hydrangea, every detail was intentional and personal to their style and likes. The Jewish ceremony was under a chuppah made of driftwood and pale blue and white blooms.
An outdoor al fresco dinner for their 280 guests was complete with long wood dining tables, patterned textiles, and velvet napkins tied with jute. Guests were welcomed into the ballroom for dancing, desserts, and the band kept people on the dance floor all night long. A favorite detail of their day was the guest book, which was comprised of messages in bottles that the bride and groom will open on each anniversary – how sweet is that?
The bride’s favorite dessert is anything with chocolate and caramel, so we highlighted her personal fave with chocolate bar wedding favors branded with their monogram. The end of the night was finished with the arrival of an In-N-Out truck for guests to enjoy and wrap up the amazing day of celebrations!
