Rustic Romance at Greengate Ranch and Vineyard

This dream of a fall wedding featured creative details with romantic blush and maroon hues. The custom tassel escort display brought ooh’s and ahh’s from everyone while the dazzling lights that lined the backdrop of the dance floor, invited them to party!  Another fan-favorite of the day were the ice cream sandwiches – no wedding cake disappointment here! More from the couple…

How Did You Meet?

As the cliché goes, we met at a bar… Let’s face it, our generation likes to party. A typical Friday night, two bunches of friends hitting the town… and one VERY special bar – Mr. Lucky’s. Attraction (love?) at first sight. A lot of laughter, a little kissing and phone numbers exchanged. As they say, the rest is history. While it is not necessarily elegant to say we met at bar, there is something special about Mr. Lucky’s and our “How Did You Meet” provides us with a cute, meaningful story to share.

How Did He Pop The Question?

It was the best day of our relationship to date, by far… Both of our schedules are really busy. We were finally able to plan a weekend getaway in October – destination unknown to Jen. After thirty minutes of winding roads and apparent wrong turns, Jen still had no clue where they were going. Finally we reached the Diablo Valley Overlook. We got out and Tim opened the lift gate. He grabbed the ring, dropped down to one knee and Jen said yes!

What Is Your Favorite Wedding Memory?

There are many moments that stand out to us, but one of our favorites is our first look. As everyone can imagine the day of your wedding is nonstop excitement, preparation, celebrations and of course champagne :) As the day was progressing, we were sequestered to our appropriate wings of the house and we were surrounded by our family, friends and bridal party to keep us occupied. Since it was nonstop we did not really have a moment to think about what came next, even though it would be one of the BIGGEST moments of our lives. After many hours of getting ready, taking pictures with our bridesmaids and groomsmen the moment finally came for us to see one another. As we were both anxiously waiting to see each other and share a private moment, the minutes leading up to it was by far one of the most nerve racking moments of our lives. But as soon as we were able to lock eyes on one another and share a simple, yet perfect embrace, we both became instantly relaxed and at ease. We are so thankful that our photographer, Jen Rodriguez, was able to capture all of these moments. Looking back at all the photos and memories – this moment stands out the most and is one that we will always be grateful for.

What Was Your First Dance Song?

Our first dance song was My Best Friend by Tim McGraw. This song was special to both of us for many reasons but mainly because when we first started dating, we danced to this song while having a casual date night at home. It has held a very special place in both our hearts since that moment.

What Advice Do You Have For Couples Currently Planning Their Weddings?

Enjoy every moment! It might seem stressful while you are planning, confirming budgets and tallying costs but keep in mind that you are planning one of the best parties of your life with your closest family and friends.

Also, the biggest piece of advice is to partner with a wedding planner and design team. This was no question the best thing we did. Our team, Lovelyfest (Natalie and Stephanie) did such an amazing job listening to what we wanted and when we viewed their design boards we were blown away with their creativity and ideas to incorporate the small details into the overall concept. Seriously- everyone should partner with Lovelyfest, they are an amazing team!

How Did You Pick Your Wedding Vendor Team?

Luckily our venue, Greengate Ranch and Vineyard, had provided us with a list of preferred vendors and that is how we started the search. Since we live in the San Francisco Bay Area and our venue and vendors were in San Luis Obispo, we had to conduct calls, view websites, yelp reviews and basically every form of research you could imagine.

The first vendor that we selected was Jen Rodriguez for photography. We chose Jen because of all her amazing work and the instant connection that we felt with her. She gave us such a sense of ease and comfort that we knew we could trust her in capturing the candid moments of our day.

When selecting your team you have to go with your gut and intuition on who you will feel comfortable with during the planning phase and the actual day. We really focused on surrounding ourselves with individuals that understood what we wanted to accomplish and had a genuine interest in making our wedding day special, unique and truly amazing!!
