It may have been the very first L’Artisan Workshop gathering but they knew what they were doing when they created this ceremony inspiration shoot. We’re absolutely in love with the beautiful pergola, complete with never-ending vines and florals… and a bride-to-be that’s beaming, a dapper groom and a flower girl that’s just too cute for words. Maru Photography captured everything that French Grey Events planned out and styled creating this gorgeous gallery – see it all here!

From French Grey Events… This stylish French-inspired intimate wedding editorial was created for the inaugural edition of L’Artisan Workshop, a fine art wedding workshop that caters specifically to destination photographers and stylists wishing to immerse themselves in the romantic and adventurous world of of intimate destination weddings and elopements. Workshop co-founders Kasia of French Grey Events, a Paris-based stylist and wedding planner and Kim-Maru of Maru Photography, a Vancouver, Canada based destination wedding and travel photographer, created this editorial with the modern destination bride in mind – a woman who longs to combine her taste for bold adventure with her nostalgia for old world romance. Et voila! What better way to combine adventure with old world romance than to have an intimate autumn wedding ceremony in an authentic French Chateau?!

Shot on the grounds of beautiful Chateau Barthelemy, an authentic 18th century French Chateau, located just outside of Paris, we appealed to the adventurous side of our bride by bringing in design elements of the wild in the winding vines, foraged forest botanicals and wild roses and set them against the romance and historic charm provided by the marble pillars and wrought iron of the Chateau’s beautiful forest pergola. Following a romantic sunset ceremony, the newly wed couple (and all of our workshop attendees!) retreated to the cozy warmth of the Chateau, to sip champagne, eat cake and cuddle up by a crackling fire, of course!
