This Bride may have been on the younger side, but she knew what she wanted when it came time for her wedding. And her vision came to life picture perfectly. An elegant color palette of black, white and green, florals galore and lots of little personal touches made for a wedding to remember. From the Bride… Tyler and I wanted a romantic, timeless, and effortless look. I didn’t want the focus of the wedding to be on a theme but more of a representation of Tyler’s and I youthful yet sophisticated style. There’s nothing more beautiful then simplicity. The idea was to have a classic black and white palette while keeping a whimsical and natural aesthetic.
Our source of inspiration came from our hometown church. The color white is a symbol of purity, as well as respect and reverence. I always pictured a bed of white florals at Mary’s feet and taking a moment to pray with my husband before the conclusion of our ceremony and beginning our new life together. The most important aspect of our wedding was promising our lives to each other in front of all our loved ones, but most importantly in front of God. When I learned green symbolizes renewal and promise of new life the vision for our florals came easily. It had to be all white florals with overflowing romantic greenery! I envisioned simplistic white florals in clean lines with a mix of draping greenery.
We loved the idea of contrast. Tyler and I are pretty traditional, and yet we’re 25 and youthful. Old world elegance with a modern twist just seemed like the perfect fit for our wedding. The wedding party’s pop of black garments and having soft gold details throughout the venue would bring a balance to the vintage architecture and furniture selections. Exposed brick, and wooden elements throughout the reception such as our rectangular farm tables and custom arbor above our sweet heart table brought the natural look we desired. The mix of elegant florals, luxurious ivory linens, and creamy candle light painted the perfect picture in order to transport our guests into a romantic wonderland, but most importantly a night full of an immense amount of love, fun, and culture.
Tyler and I really wanted to add fun personal details sprinkled throughout our wedding and bring forward our youthful side and balance out the sophistication in the most simplistic ways. We figured everyone loves social media and will be sharing moments throughout the night. We had an illustration made of us as bride and groom and placed on a snapchat filter for our guests to have fun with. A yummy late night snack is a must, whether you’re young or old, a self-served s’mores bar will be approved by all. I dreamed about a classic black and white Photo Booth for all of our guests to leave with a memory at hand. Besides the 4×6 Photo Booth picture we wanted our favors to really express some of Tyler’s and I favorite things. We wanted our guests to leave with a piece of our culture, Portuguese(him) and Mexican(me) cookies in custom favor boxes paired with coffee beans from our favorite Bay Area coffee house made for the perfect wedding favors. Choosing our signature drinks came easily. Portuguese soda, Mexican cerveza or maybe our guests would want to try the bride’s choice of specialty drink, “My Ty” (see what I did there). The glow sticks waved on the dance floor and the perfect sparkler send off lit up the night in such a fun, beautiful way. It was the perfect kiss goodnight to our wedding.
