The One Bridal Gown Trend That Isn’t Going Anywhere

Trends may be short-lived in nature, but sometimes they are just sooo good, they stick around for awhile. Case in point? Sleeves: one of those “trends” that happens to be a mainstay, and we’re not upset in the slightest. From cap to half to full-length, today we’re singing the praises of the sleeved beauties from Maggie Sottero Designs, a design powerhouse that knows a thing or two about gorgeous gowns. Scroll for some of our faves.

MAGGIE SOTTERO

Calling all modern brides with a love of romance – the latest collections by Maggie Sottero are for you. From the illusion long-sleeves and lace appliqués of the Berkley to the off-the-shoulder half-sleeves and portrait neckline of the Bree to the elbow sleeves and plunging V-back of the Darcy, you’ll definitely be looking like the princess you always wanted. Not to mention the Megan, a gown that delivers a sheer lace back along with illusion long sleeves for a decidedly royal look.

SOTTERO AND MIDGLEY

We happen to adore sleeves for many reasons – their nod to vintage aesthetics, the sophisticated touch they add to your gown and the subtle sexy vibe they give to your overall look are just a few. So of course we are smitten with the lineup from Sottero and Midgley, aka, gowns that are much chicer than your grandma’s long-sleeved look. Currently on our love list: amazing ball gowns with half-sleeves like the Allen, vintage-inspired pretties with cap-sleeves like the Grady and sheath silhouettes with long sleeves like the ones on the Jillianna. And a special shout-out to Zayn Rose, a boho gown with cap sleeves and a scoop back. (It’s amazing.)

REBECCA INGRAM

We’re big fans of Rebecca Ingram and their collection of luxe + high-quality gowns that are perfect for the budget savvy bride. And with a lineup of sleeved pretties that will literally take your breath away, who wouldn’t be? From the vintage-inspired Beatrice (hey there, off-the-shoulder sleeves and illusion open back) to the elbow-length sleeves and V-back of the Cathy to the classic ball gown and elegant sleeved jacket of the Darlene, we’ve found our happy place. And, of course, we have to mention the Mercy, which is basically the epitome of romance with short sleeves you will LOVE.
