Adorable At Home Engagement Shoot with Sips + Sweet Kisses

Weddings may always be our jam but by golly, I love a good engagement shoot. And the ones shot at home, well, they’re by far my fav. So when Koman Photography shared this gem, I had to return the favor and share with you all too – it’s my own little request for more at home snuggle sessions captured on camera. With a handsome pup, baked treats and sparkling sips, how could you disagree?!

From the Bride-to-be… It was 2009, at a Los Angeles Taiwanese Young Professional (LATYP) meet up event, and Jack was one of the hosts. I tagged along with my friend, eager to make new friends. I sure noticed him for the first time, but our sights did not meet. He was there, I was here, and many new faces in between us. Nevertheless, we became friends, and we eventually became acquainted throughout many LATYP events for next couple years.

It was 2011, at the OC Fair, Jack decided to give me a minion plush toy he had won, and it forever held our hands together. Earlier, I had tried very hard to get a minion toy, but all efforts were in vain. Right at the brink of me giving up, that’s when Jack came towards me, with half of himself behind a large minion. “Here you go” Jack stated, while passing me the minion. Along with the minion, my heart was won.

In the fifth year of our relationship, I guess it was time to make it official – so Jack had thought. When we were spending our Christmas holidays with our siblings at Bellingham, WA, with some help, during an improvised “play” where a few of us were in roles, Jack went down on his knee, and asked me to marry him, asking me if “I would spend rest of my life with him?” “YES, YES, & YES” – I had waited for the moment!

Koman Photography’s style is exactly what I wanted, a soft and romantic atmosphere. They reminded us that “It’s all about you: your love, interests, and style,” so we thought there was no better place than our home to be the backdrop to our love story. During our session, we had a lot fun with Marlene and John, they had their special way of conducting their shoot with ease, which ultimately made Jack and I less anxious. We were certainly worried about awkward looking poses and gazes, especially for Jack, however, John and Marlene made the shoot fun, relaxing and comfortable. Choosing the Komans was the right decision and and Jack and I cannot wait to work with them again on our big day!
