Behind the Invitation: Watercolor Wedding Wonders

Watercolors are always a win and add in a scenic California celebration (and a ferris wheel!) and we have magic in the making! To get guests prepped and pumped, Anticipate Invitations set the scene with this folded invitation suite. With pics by Jennifer Yarbro, we’re diving into the details of this romantic romp through Cali and wishing we were one of the lucky guests to get one of these beauties in the mail!

From Anticipate InvitationsIt was nothing but pure romantic sweetness for Lauren and Evan’s small, folded wedding invitation. The smaller size and folded format of their invitation was actually a cost-reducing element since we were able to combine the map with the invitation. But smaller here simply translates to cute and works to their favor.

Wrapped in delicate, white tissue paper and tied with twine, the front of the folded card had a painted laurel wreath with Lauren and Evan’s initials. The card opened to reveal a hand illustrated watercolor map of Malibu and the Southern California coastline. One of the highlights of their venue was a vintage ferris wheel, which marked the spot on the map, along with other iconic California favorites. The open spans of the Pacific was the perfect spot for their invitation wording to land.

The back of the invitation had a blush pink pocket adhered, which held the response card, also done in watercolor, and a return envelope.

Sometimes budget restraints or other obstacles can lead to great creative solutions that turn out to be even better than Plan A. Proof that good things do come in small packages!
