10 Trends Every 2017 Bride Needs to Know About

The birds are chirping, the days are getting longer, it’s almost our favorite time of year: wedding season! For all you brides-to-be who are in the midst of planning their big day – and for us lucky guests who get to attend – what exactly can we expect to see this special season? Easton Events is here to share the 10 trends they are embracing and excited about – get ready to get inspired!

Rising Florals

For the last decade the wedding world has had a love affair with low, loose deconstructed flowers, but things are looking up, literally, in 2017. Table centerpieces are getting a lift and going high again, and not in the floral ball on top of the pedestal vase mode. This year’s arrangements feel dramatic and uncontrived – truly uplifting. We are thrilled to add more dimension to our designs by incorporating height on the table.

Stylish Bridesmaids

In 2017 our fashion-forward brides are asking their bridesmaids to wear coordinating attire. These dresses are not similar in either design or material but still create a cohesive look. It takes a keen fashion eye to pull off this fun, fresh trend but we love it!

Emotional Moments Captured

A seismic shift is happening in wedding photography as brides are beginning to favor and request more of a photojournalistic style for their wedding photography. It’s not just about perfectly posed pictures captured in dreamy tones with the soft lens. We see our couples looking for candid, unstoppable pictures with palpable emotion.

Invitations to Inspire

In recent years, the wedding invitation continues to take on more and more importance in the overall design of a wedding. We continue to push the envelope ;) on this trend, and deliver inventive and unexpected printed pieces to “tempt” the wedding guests. We love to hint toward the wedding design textures by incorporating fresh mediums like velvet, suede, linen, and printed vellums. Presentation is everything and creating a box to nestle your invitation inherently allows you to deliver multi-piece suites and a layered guest experience.

Color Is Back!

Color is back in wedding décor and going big and bold is definitely the way to go. After years of blush and neutral being the palettes of choice, a zesty yellow green is now the Pantone Color of Year. So give your wedding décor a fresh take and pump up the color. Color, color, color is the biggest trend for 2017.

Destination Is Where It’s At

This is the year of the destination wedding! Whether you marry on a Caribbean beach, at an Italian villa or on a mountaintop out West, faraway destinations have become a significant trend. More and more of our brides are cutting their guest count and heading out on the road to find that perfect and sublime place to say “I do”.

Quiet Jams

Silent discos are hot this year. It seems like the noise police are everywhere but pop on your headphones and let the party continue. A DJ spins the music and your guests, cocooned in their headsets, rock the night away. Truth be told, it took us a minute to get on board with this trend, but once you see it in action, it’s just so much fun. Try it for your after party!

Restaurant Chic

Wedding design is taking notes from great restaurant design. We’re adding in custom bars and custom chandeliers with lots of lounge grouping to make even a tented event feel like a fun, hip bar. Specialty beverage services rock out a variety of imaginative custom high test drinks for discerning guests.

Festive Food

Food as art and entertainment is hot! Local specialties are in the limelight, and the presentation is as important as the food itself. Try a handmade burrata station, or gin cart or an oyster shucker roaming through the crowd. Create signature moments which are fun, delish and memorable.

Towering Trees

Trees are trending so bring the great indoors inside! We love seeing tree limbs bending down with a plethora of candle light to warm up the space. Trees add drama and scale to any room, so if you can’t dine alfresco bring a little nature inside.
