A Tale of Love and the Most Stunning Backless Dress

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more stunning dress and that backless silhouette has a lot to do with it. It gives a classic lace column gown the prettiest modern twist; perfect for this elegant city wedding. Crafted by Woven & Wed with florals by Poppy Lane, it’s a sea of greenery and classic tapered candles that make for a day both simple and wildly pretty. From the Bride… I was first met Tom while still in college attending the University of Minnesota, luckily dear friends of ours were kind enough to introduce us. When Tom proposed it was very reminiscent of our time we spent getting to know one another while in school. He planned a “throwback day” on January. We spent the day walking through campus visiting coffee shops, restaurants and buildings we used to have classes in. He waited until the very end of the day, and proposed on the main lawn in front of Northrop Auditorium. When it came to our wedding day we wanted something classic and simple. Whites, greenery, golds for decor, and blush/pink and navy for bridal party attire. We wanted to forgo the traditional autumn colors, Instead we choose a soft but rich color palette of cream and pink garden roses, deep purple and red dahlias, roses, and lots of greenery. When we found The Minikahda Club, we knew it was the perfect backdrop for our reception. We fell in love with its clean, but warm aesthetic. Originally we had planned to take advantage of the venues spectacular skyline views by inviting our guests to mingle on the patio during cocktail hour. However, in typical Minnesota fashion, the weather put a damper on those plans. But our guests were able to enjoy cocktails next to a warm fireplace, while enjoying the soft music played by our dear friend. Thought the rain changed a lot of our vision. Our wedding ultimately felt very intimate and welcoming for all of our guests.
