When They Couldn’t Find Their Dream Garden, They Found a Way to Create It

For this floral loving couple, it only made sense to plan a big day overflowing with lush blooms and loved ones. But when they couldn’t find their dream garden venue, they decided to ‘bring the garden to the guests’. Captured by Maison Meredith Photography, this is one celebration that’s colorful yet totally chic. See it all in The Vault!

From the Bride…Ever since I was a little girl I loved flowers. Ideally, our wedding would have been set in a garden filled with big blooms and lush greens. However, it was very important to Reece and me that all of our friends and family be able to attend. We decided to get married as close to our hometown as possible. Being from rural Wisconsin provides some challenges to finding a conveniently located garden, so we decided to bring the garden to our guests!

We achieved our garden vision by filling both the ceremony and reception with as many florals as possible without being overwhelming. We chose a tent for our reception site to help to make the wedding feel a little bit more like it was set in a garden. We also love the outdoors, and a tent reception was the perfect way to have the outdoor feel combined with a safe haven from Mother Nature, if needed.

We chose our colors based on the colors we love using in our daily life. Reece’s favorite color is gray, and he wears shades of blue often. Both Reece and his groomsmen wore a navy blue tuxedo, and we used gray and silver as accent colors. I tend to lean towards wearing neutrals with a pop of color or a standout accessory. I wore an ivory and silver gown with a bold earring and flowing hairpiece. I chose latte for my girls and paired the gown with an ornate earring.

My favorite moment of the day was our ceremony when we finally became husband and wife and then were able to spend the rest of the day together celebrating with our guests. The day was absolutely amazing and filled with more joy and love than we could have ever expected. I have to credit the amazing team of vendors I worked with for helping to make the day go as smooth as possible. If I could give brides-to-be any advice, it would be to hire vendors that have both done weddings that are in line with what you are envisioning and you trust to do work you will absolutely love.
