Boho Chic Has Never Looked So Pretty

A vibrant wildflower flower crown, colorful cowboy boots, a pretty lace wedding dress, sunflowers all around and rustic wood elements — it doesn’t get any more bohemian chic than this. And with photos from Anne-Claire Brun Photography, it doesn’t get any prettier, either. Head to The Vault to see them all!

From Anne-Claire BrunI had never attended a wedding so colorful and filled with so many flowers! Larissa is a elementary teacher and William’s a fireman. Their ceremony was right at sunset, surrounded by hundreds of flowers and their vows were beautiful.

The venue, River Ridge Ranch, was so gorgeous! I loved the rustic feel and the romantic vibe throughout the entire day, and please, check out the arch of flowers! Talk about incredible!

From The Bride…William and Larissa met on a church trip when they were 16. She called him a cowboy, he thought she was a girly girl. Fast Forward to SIX YEARS LATER…William walks into Starbucks where Larissa is studying. She notices a “country-lookin man” from the corner of her eye, and hoped he would notice her. Little did she know it was William Wells. They talked for two and a half hours that day, met up that night at a concert and the next day realized they had so much in common: a love for the outdoors, the country side, Springville, hiking, the river, coffee, bright colored running shoes, all types of music, and of course Alan Jackson. He picked her a wild sunflower every time they were together after that. They fell in love and the rest is history. Only 8 1/2 months later he asked her to marry him and of course she said yes! Its crazy to think that William Wells grew up only five minutes from Larissa his whole life, and that he would soon marry the girl next door.

March 12th, 2015. It was a gorgeous spring day and I (Larissa) was home visiting for the weekend. William planned a day full of many surprises, a day I will always remember. We both find joy in God’s beautiful creation, so naturally, he planned a picnic for us on the cattle ranch that his family manages. We picked up food from Orange Works, our favorite place to eat in town. As we finished up our picnic under a beautiful oak tree, he took me to another spot on the ranch. As we walked into a beautiful field of wildflowers, we began to pick wildflower bouquets (one of my favorite things to do). As we picked the flowers, he began to talk to me about things he looks forward to in our future, when we get married, and what he loves about me. We came across a rare batch of yellow daisies that I thought were so beautiful. I hugged him and felt his heart beating fast, which made me think something was going on. As I began to walk away I said, “I’m going to pick more wildflowers.” Very smoothly he replied, “Can I ask you a question first?” He got down on one knee and my immediate reaction was, “Is this really happening right now? Are you kidding me? Are you serious? Oh my gosh!” He said yes, and then asked me, “Larissa Jade Clem, will you marry me, be my wife, and become Larissa Jade Wells?” And of course I said YES! He then put the most beautiful ring I have ever seen on my finger. After a moment of taking in the fact that he just proposed to me, my friend Brittney and William’s sister Bekah came out from behind a rock taking photos of us. We continued to take pictures in the wildflowers where he proposed. Afterwards he had yet another surprise: an engagement party with both of our families and close friends! It was a day full of such joy , celebration, and love. I am beyond grateful that God brought the man of my dreams, William Wells, into my life to spend forever with.

The planning process was a complete JOY! It has always been a dream of mine to become a wedding decorator/planner myself someday, so planning my very own was a blast! I enjoyed putting a lot of thought into every little detail. My favorite part was figuring out what would make our wedding unique to us as a couple.

I would like to call my wedding style a mixture of country, bohemian, wildflowers, and rustic. My wedding style was inspired by mine and William’s upbringing living in a small country town. We both grew up in the same small town on ranches. So naturally, we decided to make our wedding fit our lifestyles and what showed our personalities the most. Hence, my groom wore blue jeans, boots and a cowboy hat. I LOVE wildflowers. Spring time in our small town is absolutely beautiful with wildflowers blanketing the hills. I wanted my wedding to encompass a wildflower theme with bright colors and flowers. I wanted it to look cheerful and happy. I love bright colors, so of course my wedding had to be colorful too!

My favorite moment of the day was saying my personalized vows. There were so many feelings leading up to that moment– nerves, excitement, tears of joy, happiness. When I was finally looking into the eyes of my groom and noticed how his eyes were locked on mine, I felt so incredibly loved and cared for…I felt like the most beautiful bride in his eyes. As I said the last part of my vows, I looked up and noticed how beautiful the sun looked shining through the trees and I felt warmth and a deep sense of love from the creator and from my groom. This is the part of my vows that stands out to me, “William, before our friends and family, and before God as we are surrounded by His beautiful creation—I vow all of these things to you, I commit my heart and faithfulness to you fully and truly as your wife for as long as we both shall live.”

I played mostly country western music at my wedding, but later in the night during the reception we played hip-hop dancing music too (when I busted out the pink high top nikes)!

My advice for those who are planning now would be to make the wedding reflect who you are as a couple. Also, spend extra for the little details that matter most to you, like flowers, photography and so on. Enjoy the process…It may seem like the wedding planning is daunting or overwhelming at times (especially towards the end), but every effort is so worth it in the end when you see your dreams and hard work come to life! Another thing I didn’t realize would happen is how emotional I was the day before and the day of my wedding. The smallest things easily upset me because I was overwhelmed by emotions and the busyness of it all. But don’t worry, it happens! Try not to let those little things bother you. It is your day, the biggest day of your life! Smile and remember the reason why you’re getting married– to spend forever with the love of your life. And that is what it’s all about!
