Diy Soy Wax Candle Favors
April 26, 2016
Cutest favor EVER. At least, that's what your guests will be saying once you hand out these cute lil' candles at your reception. Perfect for any party these votives are sure to be a showstopper, and to boot? They're incredibly easy to make. Six steps people - that's all! And the best part yet? We're showing you step-by-step how to do it all below!

Soy Wax Flakes
Jelly Jar Containers
Double Broiler
Glue Dots
Clothing Pins
Spouted measuring cup or bowl
Vellum Paper
Scissors or Paper Cutter
Hole Punch
Glue Dots

Measure out the amount of wax you need by pouring the flakes into your jelly jar (you can use any vessel you want). Multiply this number by 5 or so (you don't want to melt too much at one time) and place in double broiler. Gently melt over medium heat until liquified.

Let it cool for about 5-10 minutes then add your essential oils. We did about 10 drops for 5 jelly jars worth of wax.

While that is melting, use a glue dot to adhere your wick to your jelly jar base. Make sure it's in the center because this will help the candle to burn evenly. Set aside

Pour the melted wax carefully into your jelly jars. Use the clothing pin to make sure your wick stays put and in the center.

Let the candle wax solidify then personalize!

We printed calligraphy names onto vellum sheets then used a paper cutter to trim them into 6" x .5" pieces. Then, we punched a hole in between "with love" and the names and slid the vellum sheet right over the wick using glue dots on either side to secure.
