Jerry and I met seven years ago at a mutual friend’s wedding. Jerry was a groomsman and I was a bridesmaid. We walked down the aisle together cracking jokes under our breath the whole time (not appropriate but very entertaining and flirtatious). We spent the reception talking and dancing only with each other and exchanged phone numbers at the end of the night and the rest was history…
We chose to have our wedding in the California desert because we have a house in PGA West, La Quinta, and also wanted to make sure there was sunny skies on our special day. It is also a place Jerry and I are most relaxed and get away to when we can when not running our business. We wanted a small but very elegant affair that would be the most extravagant wedding our guests have been to. It had the best food, entertainment, and a luxurious setting. We wanted our guests to feel comfortable so we invited everyone to the rehearsal dinner and a light breakfast the morning after.
My favorite part of the wedding day was the first look and the moments we had alone after the ceremony. We had such a great moment together seeing each other for the first time and reveling in the ceremony afterwards.
My advice to future brides is to hire an event planner if you can. I showed him my Pinterest, answered his questions, and I just showed up the day of and it was everything I wanted! No need to review mood boards, samples, etc. He is a true professional and visionary.
