I may be a little bit biased (some of my fondest memories of living in Nashville take place at Cheekwood Botanical Garden), but this classic affair is the perfect Southern wedding. From Sage Nines Event Production…Ellie and Andrew live in D.C., but chose to get married in Nashville where they attended college at Vanderbilt University. They have always loved Cheekwood and knew it was the perfect place for a classy wedding that would also allow the guests to enjoy the natural beauty of Tennessee, since most of them would be traveling from other states.
Guests were shuttled to Cheekwood and gathered in the Wills Perennial Garden for the multi-faith ceremony, which was officiated by the bride’s sister-in-law, and blended elements of Andrew’s Jewish heritage with Ellie’s Christian upbringing. Following the ceremony, cocktail hour took place in the courtyard of the Frist Learning Center. Guests were served bourbon slushes with local Benton’s bacon, along with lavender lemonade and mini grilled cheese sandwiches.
The reception took place under a big tent on the lawn. Guests were seated at a mix of round tables and wooden farm tables and enjoyed a buffet of upscale Southern favorites. The Atlanta All Stars kept the dance floor packed, and the highlight of the evening was seeing the bride and groom lifted on chairs in a traditional Jewish horah. The bride and groom left the party in style, riding in a 1959 Bentley.
