It isn’t often we hear sweet sentiments straight form the Groom, so when we do you know we’re going to gush over every single word. Reason being? It’s like a love letter originally intended for his sweetheart, but we’re the luck ones who get to share in the spotlight. Such was the case with this pretty lil’ celebration and we’ve got it all a la Leah Vis Photography in The Vault!
From the Groom… Everyone dreams of having the perfect wedding and for those of us that are lucky enough to achieve our dream we know it starts with a vision and the people around you to make that vision a reality. For us, that vision started the moment we met as teenagers in the paradise of Isla Vista, CA, both sophomores in college. As we fell in love spending countless days together under the sun at the beach and hiking around Santa Barbara, we dreamed of an outdoor wedding that captured both our passion for the beauty of nature and the laid back comfort of the beach town where we grew closer than we could have ever imagined.
While a fear of bad weather kept us from getting married right on the beach, we never strayed too far as we travelled to the beautiful hills of Pala, CA. Much like our feelings for each other, we fell in love with our venue, The Condor’s Nest Ranch, almost immediately. Nestled among rolling hills, a rustic ranch house and vintage-style backyard gave us the breathtaking setting we always envisioned. Add in the sweeping views with the Pacific Ocean glistening deep on the horizon, and it didn’t take long for us to start piecing together the day of our wedding.
With so much natural beauty in the venue already, we didn’t want to change the style too much and decided to compliment the rustic vibe with layers of bohemian colors and patterns, earthy succulents and splashes of gold and light. The result was a heavenly mix that gave the venue the illusion of blending into the nature all around us while sparkling with magic at every turn. No one decoration was the same, from the center pieces and arch created by our florist to the funky table numbers provided by the venue, and yet it could not have fit together more perfectly.
We were blessed with the perfect sunny weather as the ceremony took place under a big oak tree in front of a majestic view and then blended into a reception centered around the pool, vintage umbrellas and an antique wooden bar. At night, as the numerous lights and globes strewn across the sky lit up the party and our 120 guests danced to the music, we both soaked in the moment of our dream wedding come true. With each detail going off without a hitch thanks to our tremendous vendors, and captured beautifully by our awesome photographers, we couldn’t feel any happier to have this memory for a lifetime.
