Rustic Refugio Ranch Proposal with Adorable Baby Goats

Horseback riding, balloons, sunflowers, baby goats (named Sebastian and Cornelius) and a killer view. It sounds like a random list, but these pieces came together to make for the perfect proposal for this gorgeous couple. And with a team like Michael + Anna Costa Photography and Alegria By Design, we’re not the least bit surprised it came together so beautifully. See all the heart-warming details in The Vault!

From Alegria by DesignSoon to be groom, Sam contacted us 3 months prior to his target proposal date filled with many ideas for his custom proposal to then girlfriend Nathalie. Both nature lovers, Sam knew the location had to be magical. When Sam sent me his short list of must haves I had to do a double take: horseback riding, balloons, sunflowers, baby goat with ribbon, purple and lavender, sunset, tree carving names and date, champagne glasses and beach view or wooded area. What? Baby Goats!!! Yes, our kind souled Nathalie as a slight obsession with baby goats. So I found goats…not just any goats but goats with cute names: Sebastian and Cornelius. As for the magical location, a 415 acre wine vineyard and estate nestled into the Santa Ynez Mountains, Refugio Ranch Vineyard. Refugio Ranch with its centuries long history nestled in a small canyon is magic for sure and offered the perfect backdrop for Sam’s surprise proposal. Producing this happy little event soon became a labor of love. I quickly gathered my dream team. The talented Anna Costa signed on to photograph the day, Tye French with Like A letter to film every moment and Anna Le Pley Taylor provided lovely and romantic blooms. Such a beautiful location and a beautiful couple, my job was a piece of cake.
