Star light, star bright, wish I may, wish I might, have this wedding wish I wish tonight…. and if these pics by Candice Benjamin are any indication, it looks like all wishes and dreams came true for these two. Under the guidance of Charmed Events Group, a whimsical wonderland was created, complete with romantic lyrics and gorgeous linens by La Tavola. Join the swoonfest in our VAULT right this way!
From Charmed Events Group… The inspiration behind this bride and groom’s wedding was starry nights with a hint of romance and a hint of whimsy. The bride was the ultimate lover of details (which we as planners and designers love!) so we set out to create a magical day set against a backdrop of romantic moodiness, using a color palette of midnight blues, dusty blues, dusty lavenders, accented by soft pinks, creams and golds. We believe that paper items set the tone so right off the bat, the invitation suite was designed to emulate a night basked in stars and that motif carried on throughout the wedding.
The wedding party did an amazing job of matching the color palette, the girls wore mismatched dresses in different colors while the groom wore a dusty blue suit and the groomsman wore light grey suits. The bride had a lock charm, on her bouquet and the groom had a key charm, which symbolized he has the key to her heart.
The ceremony was held on the fantastic lawn of the venue with a huge oak tree that served as a focal point. We custom created the words “love” with the help of 43 layers to decorate the tree and hung ribbons from the lettering as a focal point. Beneath the words, was a love lock tree. In the presence of their family and friends, the couple locked two individual locks together to symbolize the unity of their love and put the keys in a small treasure box that they later buried in the sand in Tahiti on their honeymoon. To them, this symbolized that their love was a forever love. The bride wanted to make sure that her entrance was a grand one so we created a custom, dusty purple drape to frame her entrance into the ceremony. In wanting to keep their wedding intimate, they asked their guests to participate wholeheartedly by having an unplugged ceremony.
For cocktail hour, it was important to the bride and groom that their guests were fully engaged in festivities and fun! In honor of the bride’s favorite drink, we invited the Boba Guys to come and set up shop and created a boba bar for guests to partake in. One of my personal favorite things we did was create a fabric backdrop with escort cards and fresh flowers clipped to each name as a way for guests to find their seats. As the cards got picked up throughout the hour, the fabric backdrop turned into a photo op for many guests to pose in front of with their friends. Our team also created custom corntoss holes with the couple’s initials and wedding date on them to further engage the guests in fun.
The reception was a spectacular display of colors, textures and details. We draped the entire venue to create a blank slate and then brought in dusty purple lighting and stars projected on the walls to create a starry night feel. We had three different table configurations all dressed up in different linens of peach lace, dusty blue and a patterned grey. For the place settings, each guest sat down to a presentation of different plates atop a gold rimmed charger, gold flatware and gold rimmed glasses. For the sweetheart table, we custom made an acrylic sign with the bride’s favorite lyrics from Ed Sheeran’s song “Thinking Out loud” and hung it above the couple. For the dessert table, we also made an acrylic sign “Treat Yo Self” to hang above all the sweets. One of the highlights of the evening was when we set off confetti cannons after the couple finished their first dance.
