Fall weddings practically beg for beautiful berry shades but with the smart addition of gold, this whole shindig elevates itself to an incredible elegance. Dana Cubbage captured every moment of these Lowndes Grove “I do’s”, and we’re the lucky ones that get to be transported to enjoy a classic Southern style celebration – see it all in our VAULT right this way!
From Dana Cubbage Weddings… Before the torrential rains moved into the Charleston area during the first weekend in October, Charleston residents Katrina and Eoin (pronounced “Owen”) said “I do!” at picturesque Lowndes Grove Plantation in South Carolina. We were fortunate enough to photograph Katrina and Eoin’s sweet First look under one of the majestic oaks at Lowndes Grove, complete with a chandelier hanging from above! We were also able to do a ton of portraits and most of the bridal party photos outside before the rain officially began shortly before their ceremony. This is precisely why doing a first look on your wedding day can be so helpful… without a first look, Katrina and Eoin wouldn’t have been able to have ANY photos outside because by the time their ceremony was over, it was pouring rain!
I absolutely loved the wine and berry inspired color palette and, as usual, the ladies of Pure Luxe Bride put together an absolutely stunning event. Bridesmaids wore shades of berry and purple, which paired well with the blush, pink, white and purple bouquets by WildFlowers Inc. Gold accents pulled everything together and the reception space was simply spectacular! Katrina and Eoin said “I do!” under the tent, as the rain created a soft roar on the tent roof. After a formal sit-down dinner, guests joined the newlyweds on the dance floor, where they remained most of the night. As a tribute to Eoin’s Irish heritage, they kicked off the dance party with an Irish song sing-a-long right after dinner and it was so much fun!! In lieu of a sparkler exit, they opted to pass out and wave white towels while “Sandstorm” played on the dancefloor… a nod to their alma mater, University of South Carolina.
