Autumn Bridal Session in Yosemite National Park

What do you get when you combine a lush, autumn-inspired bouquet by Kelly Lenard, a dreamy Hayley Paige gown and the incredible scenery of Yosemite National Park? A bridal session made for the pages of SMP, that’s what. From the lens of Cassidy Carson, we’re peeking into a shoot that celebrates the beauty of nature and you can pin to your heart’s content inside THE VAULT.

From Cassidy Carson“God never made an ugly landscape. All that the sun shines on is beautiful, so long as it is wild.” – John Muir

When I think of Yosemite National Park, I think of how inspiring and free it is. While surrounded by granite monoliths it’s easy to feel small. Nature, Yosemite in particular, is beautifully intimidating. As we were brainstorming ideas for this bridal session we knew we wanted a stunning location. The Yosemite Valley was perfect. The Hayley Paige gown diffused the California light so well and the floral-sequined bodice played nicely off of the lush environment.

Kelly foraged greenery and golden ferns from the some nearby woods to create a bouquet that embodied the park—beautifully wild. We chose not to fuss over the bride’s hair or makeup keeping everything simple and preserving a natural feeling for the shoot. I consider it a privilege to have been able to photograph a blushing bride in such a magnificent setting!
