Rustic + Romantic Holman Ranch Wedding

Hey there Holman Ranch, I have an idea for you: want to replicate yourself and come on over to the East Coast? I’m certain you’d book up within minutes. My love for this gorgeous venue continues to grow and Jasmine Lee’s pics of this pretty-as-can-be wedding has me going through our VAULT over and over again. Josh Harney got in on all the action and his film in a fantastic finishing touch on one sunny soiree.

From the Bride… Holman Ranch is a truly magical wedding venue. Its picturesque golden hills etched with oak trees that overlook Carmel Valley could not be more romantic. Its location along with the way the sunlight illuminated the entire venue in the evening stole our hearts. The moment we stepped onto the property we knew it was going to be our venue. Our colors were antique and soft with touches of spring. Our theme was timeless and romantic. Every day up until the wedding was spent working on projects to make our vision a reality. On our wedding day I will never forget the smile on Ryan’s face as he watched it all unfold. Complete and utter happiness surrounded us and those we loved.

The wedding day was a reflection of the love that Ryan and I share. We wanted it to be filled with personal touches throughout that surrounded our guests with that same love. This gave the inspiration for the escort cards given to each guest in the form of a scroll, describing what we loved and cherished about them most. We also created personalized thank you place cards for our dinner place settings and scattered other personalized messages throughout Holman Ranch. For our favors, we compiled Ryan’s favorite recipes that he cooks at home, a CD of our love story and strawberry jam that my mother and I made that spring.

Music has been a beautiful part of our relationship and was reflected throughout our wedding. From small touches like Ryan’s boutonniere to even the Gibson guitar I gave Ryan as a wedding gift, music was present. We wrote our own vows along with letters that we placed in an engraved box to be opened on our 10th anniversary. It was important to Ryan and I that his grandfather and my father, those who were loved and lost, were remembered that day. Ryan’s cuff links had a picture of his grandfather along with his famous saying “mighty fine”, keeping him close to him the entire day. My father was a musician and on my bouquet I carried his guitar pick in a locket. In the front row during our ceremony was his guitar with a picture of him holding me. We released a dove in their honor and as we were pronounced husband and wife the dove circled back and flew directly behind us for our first kiss. It felt surreal and completely meant to be.

Our first look was full of tears, emotion and us holding one another. All my life I tried to imagine what it would be like to see my groom for the first time and when we saw each other it was more special than I ever could have imagined. Our wedding day could not have been more perfect. At the end of the night I remember Ryan and I looking at each other, smiling and saying that we wouldn’t change a thing. From our first look to our last dance, it was a dream and everything we had envisioned.
