I’ve been lucky enough to travel all over Europe, and though each country is magical, Greece stands out as one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been (second only to Paris). One look at this seaside wedding, and you’ll understand why. From the Bride and Groom… We always dreamt of combining a traditional marriage with the beauty, colors and charm of the Greek summer. After ten years of being and living together, we decided that the time of bringing this dream to life, and also making our parents and relatives happy, had come.
The wedding ceremony occurred in the old Byzantine church of Agios Dimitrios that stands in the square of the picturesque, seaside village of Afytos in northern Greece. The reception was devoted to summer. We chose for the beach-bar of the White Suites Resort. This wooden, white venue that rests on the sandy Moudounou beach offered the perfect setup for combining the white of the wedding with the blue of the sky and the sea.
Our wedding took place early September on a glorious sunny day. And thanks to the presence of the beach, it concluded with all guests, who were courageous to change into their swimsuits, getting into the sea for a night-swim.
