Gold + Silver Texas Glam Wedding

We don’t hear from the grooms all that often which makes this gentleman’s story special from the start. But the way he describes the “most amazing day of his life” and his breathtaking wife, well, it brought tears to my eyes. Becca Lea captured every moment of their special day and thanks to her pics, our VAULT just got a major boost of Texas glam gorgeousness – see it all this way!

From the Groom… The day I married Amanda was by far the most amazing day of my life. It was the culmination of a beautiful journey we had started four years prior and it ended up being everything we wanted it to be. I began that beautiful July day arriving at the mansion where our ceremony and reception would be taking place. I remember Amanda seeing the mansion for the first time and saying this is where we HAVE to get married. We hadn’t even walked inside, but I knew our search for a venue was over. The mansion encompassed all the things we wanted; a beautiful outdoor ceremony location, a reception space by the pool, and an on-site groom and bride’s suite that were large enough to accommodate our wedding party of 20. The flower girl even asked if princesses lived in the mansion.

We had decided to do a first look and I remember when Becca called me up to get ready for it I was so excited I could barely stand it. Amanda had kept every aspect about her wedding day look a secret, but knowing her there was no doubt that she would be a perfect combination of glamorous and classic. I could not wait to see the woman of my dreams in her wedding dress. I stood with my back turned waiting on her to walk up to me, I could hear her footsteps and excited laughter as her approach came near, I had a smile from ear to ear before I even laid eyes on her and when I finally did she looked more breathtaking than I could have ever imagined. I was a little hesitant about the first look in the beginning, but I would definitely do it again. It was such an intimate moment that we got to share before saying “I do.”

After pictures we waited for the ceremony to begin. I walked down to the big oak tree in front of the mansion where our ceremony was going occur. Amanda and I wanted the ceremony to be simple and intimate, so even the people that didn’t know us well would be able to feel the love we have for each other. Once, everyone was in position the stringed musicians began to play “At Last” by Etta James and I could see Amanda begin her walk with her father. Once I saw her it seemed as though everything else in the entire place faded away, it was just me and her. That was the happiest moment of my life thus far. I was so thankful that my college roommate and close friend, Brian, was able to officiate our wedding. He did an amazing job at making our ceremony personal and fun while telling our story. We decided to write our vows, something I was quite nervous about prior to the ceremony but once it began it just flowed out so natural and easy, I didn’t feel nervous at all, I was just so happy to be marrying this amazing woman and everything just felt so right up there.

After the ceremony we made our way to the reception. The theme that Amanda had put together looked great; it was a perfect balance of who we were, I believe she called it “Texas Glam.” It makes me laugh just writing that but it summed the look and feel up great; a backyard Texas environment with all the glamour and beauty that my wife brings to everything she touches. We could not have asked for a more beautiful venue and night. Surrounded by our family and friends we danced the night away and celebrated our love, it was night I will never forget and always cherish.
