Some weddings seem just about the pretty—not this one. This gorgeous day is about the pretty (that bouquet from Designs By Ahn!) and the fabulous couple. The former high school sweethearts, who reconnected again 30 years later, eloped to New York City for an unforgettable wedding day adventure around the iconic city. And all the photos from Sarah Day-Boodhoo in THE VAULT guarantee these two can relive their special day for years to come.

From Sarah Day-Boodhoo Photography...My bride, Steph reached out to me from Australia with a very specific dream of eloping with her finance in NYC. Perusing photo's of NYC, the light at dawn struck her as dreamy - and she wanted to have a part of that for their day. In getting to know her and Brad better and helping bring their wedding day together, we decided to make a full sunrise to sunset day together (with a mid-day siesta for recharging!).

What entailed was nothing short of magical. Heading into Central Park with Bow Bridge as our sunrise destination, we encountered Bethesda Fountain and Terrace, the Boathouse and Pond as well as Bow Bridge - all empty. Other than a few random joggers, we had Central Park all to ourselves. We then meandered to Top of the Rock with Grand Central as a quick stopping point. The staff at Top of the Rock ushered us to the express elevator where the entire mezzanine staff greeted us at the top - full of cheers and well-wishes. Once on the top, there were so few others, we felt that we had the run of the deck and were then greeted by a Praying Mantis - which none of us will ever forget!

City Hall was next on our trek with a few street photo's along the way. Without so much as a line at City Hall, we were able to sit and relax just long enough until it was our turn. Their ceremony was full, joyous and pure loveliness.

We all took a little break and met back up under the Brooklyn Bridge in the afternoon. With dinner reservations at The River Cafe - a must visit restaurant with the best view in town - we had just enough time to catch some riverfront moments and sunset before they sat and enjoyed the remainder of their day.

New York City seemed to be conspiring for these two to have the most beautiful day. But it wasn't all just about their day in NYC. You see, Steph and Brad were high-school sweethearts who reconnected later again in life.

This day will forever stand out in my memory, as Brad, Steph and I have developed a lovely friendship I'm confident will sustain our distance. While I've been pulling together their gallery - I swear I can see the butterflies they still give each other.

From the Bride... Brad and I were sweethearts at high school when we were 16 years old. We parted ways after school and lived very full and separate lives. We reconnected by sheer fate three years ago. Brad was perusing the internet for vintage goods for a marketing campaign he was launching for his company. While perusing the Vintage Goddess website, he realized he recognized the owner, and immediately recognized Steph's photo on the About Me page. After a few emails, the rendezvous was set and the rest is history in the making. Starting at the tender age of 46, we fell in love all over again the split second we saw each other. Brad asks me every day if I will marry him and our wedding in September is all about us. I've lived in London and we've both traveled all over the world and when he asked me where I wanted to get married I knew exactly where we had to go... the city on the very top of my "bucket list."
