Whether you’re a Pacific or Atlantic coast kind of girl, there’s nothing more soothing than the rhythm of the waves on the shore. That relaxed feeling was captured perfectly in this bouquet from the Rhythm of the Waves Wedding Editorial shoot, created by the founder of Chicago-based Life In Bloom, Rachel, who was kind enough to give us the scoop on what blooms went into this beautiful bouquet, below!
From … As a designer, I love to challenge myself to look at things closely and go beyond just whether or not I like something, but determine WHY I am or am not drawn to something. With flowers, I am constantly analyzing arrangements, bouquets, centerpieces, etc, and asking myself what makes this piece great, or what does this piece lack? Time and time again, it seems to always come back to texture. Colors, while fun to play with, will go in and out of style as the seasons pass, but what consistently separates a beautiful palette from one that just missed the mark is the ability to balance an array of unique textures that both draw the eye in from afar and hold interest up close. Having a variety of textures helps to break up the way in which light bounces off of something and the more textures, the more ‘natural’ something typically feels, and that’s how flowers should feel, right?
