From The Bride…We chose Napa as the location for our destination wedding, which showed our love for outstanding food and wine. Having our wedding in an actual vineyard with vines and grapes all around us really showcased “Napa” and we were able to give our guests a once in a lifetime experience.

Our wedding was a small, intimate affair with just 40 of our closest friends and family. As all of our guests were coming in from out of town, it was really important to us to have such a small group so that we could create an experience for our guests with activities throughout the weekend and really get to spend quality time with each of them.

We didn’t want to distract from the beauty of our venue so we chose to have minimal decorations that only enhanced the setting. We ended up having to book a tent 3 days before our wedding as the weather forecast called for rain. We chose a clear tent so that we could still see the sky and the mountains in the background, which were very important to us. It was decorated with white lights and white paper lanterns and looked beautiful. It ended up being exactly what we had pictured from the beginning.

We chose to have a sweetheart table instead of the more traditional head table, it was a little more intimate than sitting at a head table would be. It also allowed our bridal party to sit with their partners and enjoy the wedding together. It was a great idea and would highly recommend it to any couples.

Just take everything in stride and not to worry about it. It may seem stressful in the months and days leading up to the big day, but if you are working with a great planner or coordinator, trust that they know what they are doing and that everything will turn our exactly as planned. Our wedding day went off without a hitch (as far as we know) and we couldn’t have imagined it any more perfectly. Make sure to do your research (Pinterest is a huge help!) so that you have an idea of what you like and don’t like prior to going into any vendor meetings. And if you have no idea, they will be more than willing to suggest ideas to you.

The whole day was one big highlight. All of our vendors were amazing and we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. One major highlight for us was the “first look”, if anyone is on the fence about doing it, please go ahead and do it, you won’t regret it! Another one was having all of our guests on the dance floor at the same time (and for the whole rest of the night) singing along together. And with having such a small number of guests, being able to have great memories with every one of them.
