From Jennifer Blair…Kaylie is a dear friend and I cannot express how much of an honor it was to create these beautiful memories from her day. I don’t know of any other wedding that has been more true to a couple. This wedding epitomized this couple so well. Everything about their intimate affair was a representation of their personalities and relationship. Kaylie & Cory chose each detail with purpose. Kaylie’s love for white and European-inspired details were woven throughout the theme. Even though the rain called for a change of plans, nothing kept the day from being a dream. Kaylie had originally wanted to elope, but Cory knew that this version of their wedding would be best. I dare say he was right. They put so much of themselves into every detail of this intimate affair. Everything had meaning, from having their nuptials on family land to making sure each vendor was a friend.
From The Bride…This day. These vendors. Let me start at the beginning and tell you that I wanted to elope. My now husband wanted us to have a wedding. What we had was the most beautiful and intimate combination of both. It surpassed anything that I had hoped for. To stick with our intimate appeal, we got married in Cory’s grandparent’s back yard. They have an open field that was perfect for our aesthetic. We are both drawn to things small, not showy, authentic, elegant and family-like. That is how we picked our vendors and details.
First came our wedding photographer, Jennifer Blair, a dear friend of mine that I met in college. From the beginning, there was no other that would do our photos. Our wedding videographer was Andrew Lanier Arts, our brother-in-law. Our stationer, stylist and florist was one of our favorite people and dear friends, Victoria Austin Designs. The man that not only gave me away but preached our wedding was my Dad. This alone was enough. Lastly, my makeup was done by the phenomenal Morgan King Makeup. Morgan and I have worked together in the past on shoots, so when it came to my wedding day, I knew she would be the one.
Our wedding vendors made our wedding. Seriously. They were our friends. They were people we trusted, knew and cherished. Having them as apart of our day and there for the moments that made us one are very special to us. The rest of the day was fate. Florals, Italian food, white tablescapes, flowing dresses, laughter and all of our family under one tent in the middle of an open field. For us, this was everything a wedding should be.
