From Devine Ranch… This lovely June wedding had all the right Devine Ranch details from rustic wood farm tables, to a rolls royce vintage car, and adorable moments with a horse.

From The Bride…What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning? My husband and I both knew we didn’t want a long engagement and felt if we were open minded we could plan our dream wedding in just 6.5 months. We always knew we both wanted a traditional church wedding ceremony and then move to an outdoor venue near our favorite beach town. We also knew we wanted to get married in late spring/early summer as the weather is usually warm and the days are longer. After our engagement on Thanksgiving Day, we started the planning immediately and the first thing you do is find a venue. “Rustic, Elegant and Causal Chic” were the words that came to mind when looking for our venue. Also, my husband grew up in the country and I grew up riding horses so something of an outdoor ranch was the perfect setting for the laid back vibe we wanted for our guests. We only looked at one venue, Devine Ranch, and we immediately knew this was our dream venue.

What inspired your color palette and your style vision? I knew I wanted soft colors such as light pinks, blushes, ivory and greys. I also wanted the colors to blend in, in a way that was easy and would not take away from the beauty of the ranch itself. My style vision of my dress was loosely based off of Princess Catherine’s gown. I loved the traditional look with the sleeves and lace, and also wanted something that would work on an equestrian ranch.

What unique elements or DIY details did you include? I am not the most crafty or creative person, but with a little inspiration from Pinterest and the help of our wedding coordinator, we did have a few unique details that we added to the day. One of my favorites was the individual wrapped smores bags that were placed on an old printing tray filled with coffee beans. It was such an elegant look to the smore station as well as an interactive activity for the guests. Another unique element was that we had family style dinner, as opposed to everything plated. It was a fun part of the night to see all our family and friends interacting and sharing a meal together.

What was your favorite moment? Your favorite crafted detail? My favorite moment was the time we had just the two of us right after the ceremony, driving to the venue. It was about a 20 minute car ride in a Vintage Rolls Royce convertible! Leaving the church, with the top down, waving to all our guests made us feel like royalty! Not only was it luxurious, it was such a wonderful opportunity to share a tender moment where we were able to connect and just be with the two of us. Looking back on the favorite crafted detail I would have to say is our wedding favors. My husband is from Vermont, which is known for its Maple Syrup. He is such a “syrup snob”, SO we decided to give our guests little bottles of Maple Syrup from Vermont in a burlap bag along with Italian waffle cookies (Pizzelles). Not only was it a perfect combination of both of us, we wanted something they could use later and remember our wedding day! Our guests loved it too!

Tell us about your flowers, your gown, your favors, your cake, etc. I hate to brag- but I really did have the “Dream Team” when it came to my vendors! I can’t imagine the day going as perfectly as it did, without each and every one of them. From my amazing wedding coordinator, Cassie at CRE Events, who kept the day running so smoothly to my awesome florist, Darcy at Seascape Flowers who made the most incredible bouquets and boutonnieres for the guys, and my very talented hair and make up team, The Hair and Makeup Co, I felt like the day was seamless! The cake was a beautiful two tier cake from a local favorite, Gayle’s Bakery. But my wedding dress was my favorite of them all. It was a gorgeous lace gown with sleeves by Allure and I felt absolutely beautiful in it!

What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be? I can honestly say that our wedding day was the best day of our lives. We still are re-living every moment and look back at our amazing photos all the time! I would tell future brides to remember this day should reflect the two of them and to not stress the small stuff. Also, I remember my dad telling me in the very beginning, right after our engagement “if you expect the best, something is bound to go wrong. Nothing is ever perfect. But if you aim for good, the process becomes more genuine and authentic, so it will become perfectly you and you may even be surprised with how perfect the day may be.” And by taking his advice- that’s exactly the experience we had!
