From the beautiful Bride… Two special details come to mind because they were so personal: First was the arch we stood under during our ceremony was envisioned and created by my dad and a couple of other very talented friends… adding a very sentimental touch to our ceremony. The second was a gift from my older sister; a unique spin on the cake topper. She gave us a custom made cake topper the day before our wedding, featuring a clay version of Bryan and myself, a replica of the photo that we used for our save the date. The picture was originally taken in front of a wall in Austin, Tx the weekend of our engagement. I loved that this particular photo was close by throughout our entire wedding.
We used a friend’s hot sauce, “Hotlanta” as a wedding favor. Bryan and I both share a love for anything spicy and thought this was also a great way to pay homage to the city we call home.
The most stressful part of planning was finding the perfect venue. We knew that we wanted to have a wedding within the city, yet I had always imagined myself getting married outdoors (and was unwilling to let go of that image). Bryan and I also wanted to be able to have both our ceremony and reception at the same location. That being said, we scoured the city for venues that would allow us to have both a garden-like ceremony, with also having to be large enough to accommodate all of our guests and at the same time, fit within our budget. After a long, painstaking search we stumbled upon Callanwolde which was the perfect fit for us.
